Safariland 6007 ALS Hood Guard

1. Enhanced Weapon Retention: The primary function of the ALS Hood Guard is to provide an additional layer of security. It covers the Automatic Locking System (ALS) release button, helping to prevent an unauthorized individual from accessing and deactivating the retention mechanism during a physical confrontation.

2. Durable Polymer Construction: Molded from a high-strength, impact-resistant polymer, the Hood Guard is built to withstand the same rigorous conditions as Safariland's duty holsters. This ensures it won't fail under stress and provides long-lasting, reliable performance in the field.

3. Intuitive and Rapid Use: While adding security, the design does not significantly hinder the user's natural draw stroke. With practice, the operator can learn to sweep the hood guard away as part of a fluid motion to access the ALS button, ensuring weapon deployment remains fast and instinctive.

4. Made in the USA: Proudly designed and manufactured in the United States, this product reflects Safariland's commitment to high-quality materials and craftsmanship. This accessory is a testament to the brand's know-how in creating reliable equipment for professionals who depend on it daily.

ABOUT THE SAFARILAND ALS HOOD GUARD

The Safariland ALS Hood Guard is a critical upgrade for any professional using a holster with the Automatic Locking System (ALS). Unlike a standard holster setup, this accessory adds a physical barrier over the ALS thumb release, significantly increasing weapon retention security. Its main purpose is to prevent accidental release and to protect against weapon takeaway attempts, making it an essential piece of gear for law enforcement officers, military personnel, and private security professionals working in high-threat environments. Constructed from the same durable, non-marring polymer as Safariland's renowned holsters, the Hood Guard seamlessly integrates with the holster's body. It offers an additional level of security without compromising the intuitive, straight-up draw that the ALS system is famous for, ensuring that a user's muscle memory for drawing their firearm is preserved with minimal retraining.
