Recknagel Tip-Off Rings for Steyr SSG 69, 34mm Product description

  • Detachable tip-off design: This mount lets the optic be removed and reinstalled on the rifle with minimal effort, which is useful when switching setups, transporting the rifle, or accessing the action more easily for maintenance.
  • Dedicated fit for Steyr SSG 69: Built specifically for the Steyr Mannlicher SSG 69, it provides a model-matched mounting solution instead of a generic interface, helping maintain proper fit and secure engagement on the rifle.
  • 34 mm ring configuration: The 34 mm ring size supports modern riflescopes with larger main tubes, making this mount suitable for optics that need greater internal adjustment range and robust mechanical construction.
  • Steel construction: Made from steel, the mount is designed for long service life and stable optic support, which matters when consistent alignment and repeatable positioning are more important than saving a small amount of weight.
  • 0 MOA inclination: With 0 MOA built in, the mount keeps the scope in a neutral position, which suits general precision shooting setups where no additional cant is required from the mounting system itself.

About the Recknagel Tip-off Mount Series

The Recknagel Tip-off Mount series sits within the company’s scope-mount range for hunting and sporting firearms, offering detachable mounting solutions for rifles that benefit from quick optic removal and reinstallation. In this family, Recknagel uses the same practical approach seen across its mounting products: model-specific fit, clean mechanical design, and a focus on secure scope attachment rather than unnecessary complexity.

The series includes versions for scope tubes from 26 mm to 40 mm, along with variants for several rail interfaces, so it covers both traditional tube-mounted optics and more specialized mounting standards. That breadth makes the line relevant to users who want a mount matched not only to the rifle, but also to the optic’s tube diameter or rail profile. Within the broader Recknagel lineup, tip-off mounts fill the role of a detachable system that keeps handling straightforward while still prioritizing solid engagement between rifle and optic. For shooters using classic hunting rifles or specialized sporting platforms, the series is aimed at dependable day-to-day use with an emphasis on fit, repeatability, and practical compatibility.

About the Recknagel Tip-Off Rings for Steyr SSG 69, 34mm

The Recknagel Tip-Off Rings for Steyr SSG 69, 34mm are a dedicated detachable mount for shooters who want to pair a 34 mm riflescope with the Steyr Mannlicher SSG 69 using a rifle-specific solution. The main advantage of this configuration is not just that it holds the scope, but that it does so in a format tailored to the rifle and to a modern large-tube optic. That matters on a precision-oriented platform, where mount fit and mechanical stability directly affect confidence in the setup.

The steel construction gives this mount a solid, durable character that suits rifles intended for regular range use or field carry. Compared with lighter materials, steel places the emphasis on rigidity and long-term resistance to wear at the contact points. The 0 MOA inclination keeps the optic level in a neutral mounting position, which is a sensible choice for shooters who do not need built-in cant and prefer to keep the scope’s setup straightforward.

Recknagel also specifies KR 0.0 mm extension, so the mount remains a direct, non-extended solution. In practice, that supports a compact installation style and keeps the optic positioned according to the rifle’s native mounting geometry. Finished in black, the mount has a subdued appearance that matches most riflescopes and precision rifle setups without drawing attention away from the optic or rifle.

About Recknagel

Recknagel is a German manufacturer focused on firearm and riflescope mounting systems, sights, and hunting accessories. The company’s history began in 1867, when Adolf Recknagel started manufacturing firearm sights in Albrechts near Suhl, Thuringia. That long background in gun-related components still shapes the brand’s emphasis on precise mechanical fit and practical field use.

Today, Recknagel’s range includes scope mounts, Picatinny rails, sights, triggers, safeties, and hunting silencers, showing a strong specialization in the interface between rifle, optic, and shooter. The company expanded its tactical offering with the ERATAC line in 2010, and in 2016 it added lightweight hunting silencers to the catalog. Recknagel relocated from Schweinfurt to Bergrheinfeld in 2006, and the company has been under the leadership of Dr. Moritz Fehrer since 2022.

Most common questions (Q&A)

Need help? Not sure about something? Don't hesitate - ask our community! Our experienced community is here to help you with this question.

Is it possible to order this mount without windage adjustment in the rear base?
Ie, use two front bases.
The windage adjustment just give Murphy an additional opening..
Can I use 14mm for a S&B PM2 34mm with 50mm objective?

Best regards.

Both mounts from Recknagel and EAW that we have for this rifle, which are two-piece and 34 mm, have windage adjustments.

You can use the Rusan One-piece Q-R mount, Steyr SSG, 34 mm (https://www.optics-trade.eu/en/rusan-one-piece-q-r-mount-steyr-ssg-34-mm.html), or a pivot mount from Rusan or EAW.

Thank you for your understanding. If there is anything else we can help you with, please feel free to contact us at [email protected].

I have a Steyr SSG 69 and need to mount a Vortex Venom 5-25x56 34 mm tube. It would appear that your mounts 43134-1000 would be suitable, eye relief and correct positioning on the tube may present a problem. Is it possible to fit the mounts 180 deg if necessary? I look forward to your reply. Kind regards.

by Kevin

Dear Sir,

thank you for contacting us.

This mount is suitable for your Vortex scope and Steyr SSG 69 rifle. The BH height of the mount needs to be at least 15 mm in order to work. Unfortunately, you will not be able to mount this scope on 180 degrees. The eye relief should not be such a problem with this mount.

Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Kind Regards,

Good Day. I have a Steyr SSG69 and intent to fit a Vortex Venom 5-25x56, (34 tube) Due to insufficient eye relief & cheek weld, I have removed the SSG Picatinny rail and am considering the Necknagel Tip-off rings (43134-000). This may improve cheek weld. If I am able to reverse, off set or turn the mounts 180deg this may well permit the mounts to be better positioned on the tube. What dose Tip-Off denote? I assume that BH is base height. I look forward to your assistance and thank you in advance,
