Recknagel Tip-Off Tactical Rings with Triangular Nut, 40mm

• 40 mm ring interface: Built for optics with a 40 mm main tube, giving secure, correctly matched clamping without improvised inserts or compromise in alignment.
• Triangular nut fastening: The triangular nut system keeps the mount firmly locked to the rail, and the included special tool allows controlled tightening for repeatable installation.
• Aluminium construction: The aluminium body keeps weight down while maintaining the rigidity needed for a stable scope-to-rifle connection on sporting and tactical platforms.
• Black anodized finish: The hard-wearing black anodized surface helps resist handling wear and blends cleanly with modern rifles, rails and optics.
• 0 MOA, KR 0.0 mm geometry: With 0 MOA inclination and no extension, this mount suits straightforward optic positioning where a neutral, centered setup is preferred.

About the Recknagel Tip-off Mount Series

The Recknagel Tip-off Mount series is a family of scope mounts developed for hunters and sporting shooters who want a compact, practical way to fit optics securely while keeping the rifle streamlined. Recknagel lists these mounts within its broader scope-mount range, and the series includes aluminium models intended for rifles such as the Merkel KR1, B3 and B4. That focus on lightweight construction makes the series especially relevant where handling and balance matter as much as outright strength.

Within the line, Recknagel offers both scope-tube versions and variants with integrated rail interfaces. Tube-diameter options run from 26 mm to 40 mm, while rail-interface models cover profiles such as Weaver/Picatinny, Zeiss internal rail, Swarovski SR and S&B Convex. This gives the series a broad role across traditional hunting optics and more modern rail-based setups. The design philosophy is straightforward: keep the mount low, mechanically simple and well matched to the optic, so the rifle remains easy to carry, quick to shoulder and consistent in use.

About the Recknagel Tip-Off Tactical Rings with Triangular Nut, 40mm

The Recknagel Tip-Off Tactical Rings with Triangular Nut, 40mm are designed for shooters using a 40 mm scope tube on a Picatinny rail platform and who want a mount that stays simple, low and mechanically secure. In this configuration, the mount is especially relevant for large-tube optics that need more clamping surface than smaller ring sizes can provide. The 0 MOA inclination keeps the setup neutral, which suits general-purpose zeroing and rifles that do not require a built-in cant for extended-range elevation management.

The use of aluminium helps keep the assembly lighter than a comparable steel mount, which matters on rifles already carrying heavy barrels, chassis systems or large optics. Its black anodized finish adds surface durability and gives the mount a subdued appearance that fits tactical and sporting rifles alike. The triangular nut fastening system is a practical choice for users who prefer a positive mechanical lock rather than a quick-release lever. It reduces the chance of accidental loosening in transport or field use, while still allowing removal with the supplied tool when needed.

Because this model has KR 0.0 mm extension and no windage adjustment, it is best suited to rifles and optics that already align correctly on the rail. That straightforward layout keeps the mount compact and rigid, which is exactly what many shooters want from a fixed scope mount on rifles such as Accuracy International, Anschutz, Beretta and CZ platforms with Picatinny compatibility.

About Recknagel

Recknagel began in 1867, when Adolf Recknagel started manufacturing firearm sights in Albrechts near Suhl, Thuringia. The company developed into a German specialist for firearm and riflescope mounting systems, sights and hunting accessories, building its reputation around precision components for sporting and hunting firearms. Its range today extends across scope mounts, Picatinny rails, firearm sights, triggers, safeties and hunting silencers, showing a strong focus on the mechanical interface between rifle and optic.

A notable step in the company’s modern lineup came in 2010 with the launch of the ERATAC line of tactical mounts and accessories. Recknagel later expanded further in 2016 by adding lightweight hunting silencers. The company relocated from Schweinfurt to Bergrheinfeld in 2006, and in 2022 Dr. Moritz Fehrer acquired Recknagel. Across these changes, the brand has remained closely associated with German-made mounting solutions for hunting and tactical optics.
