• Purpose-built red dot solution: As part of the Recknagel Red Dot Mounts range, this model adapts a modern COA-pattern optic to a classic mounting concept, combining fast target acquisition with a familiar rifle platform.
• Long-term service support: A 30-year warranty underlines the mount’s role as a durable component intended for long-term use rather than a short-term accessory.

About the Recknagel Red Dot Mounts Series

Recknagel Red Dot Mounts form a specialized part of the company’s mounting lineup, aimed at shooters who want the speed of a compact reflex sight without giving up a rifle’s established mounting system. In the broader Recknagel range, these mounts sit alongside the brand’s traditional scope mounts and rail solutions, but they focus specifically on adapting popular red dot footprints to different rifle interfaces and mounting standards.

The series covers several practical configurations, including versions for Picatinny/Weaver rails, prism-based installations, and rifle-specific solutions for platforms such as the Sauer 303 and Sauer 404. The catalog also separates out mounts for footprints such as Aimpoint Micro, while other options support compact sights from NOBLEX/DOCTER-Sight, Zeiss Compact-Point, and Meopta Meosight. That breadth makes the series useful for hunters and sport shooters who need a mount matched to both the optic and the rifle rather than a one-size-fits-all adapter. Across the range, the design emphasis is on clean integration, dependable fit, and practical compatibility with modern red dot sights.

About the Recknagel Mount for COA, German Claw Mount

The Recknagel Mount for COA, German Claw Mount is designed for shooters who want to fit a modern enclosed red dot sight with the Aimpoint COA mounting standard to a rifle set up around a traditional claw-mount arrangement. That makes it especially relevant for hunting rifles where a low-profile, fast-handling sighting setup is preferred for short to moderate distances, moving game, or situations where rapid target acquisition matters more than magnification.

Its main advantage is the way it bridges two very different systems: a current red dot interface and a classic German claw mount concept. In practice, that allows the rifle to retain the character and handling of a traditional mounting solution while gaining the speed and simplicity of a compact reflex sight. A COA-pattern optic keeps the sight picture uncluttered and supports quick alignment, which is useful when shooting from improvised field positions or when targets appear suddenly.

As part of Recknagel’s red dot mounting range, this model is built with the company’s usual focus on precise fit and stable positioning. For a mount, those qualities matter because consistency at the interface is what allows the optic to perform as intended. Made in Germany and backed by a 30-year warranty, this mount is suited to shooters who value a durable, well-machined solution for combining classic rifle hardware with a modern red dot sight.

About Recknagel

Recknagel is a German manufacturer focused on firearm and riflescope mounting systems, sights, and hunting accessories. The company’s history began in 1867, when Adolf Recknagel started producing firearm sights in Albrechts near Suhl in Thuringia. Over time, the product range expanded to include scope mounts, Picatinny rails, firearm sights, triggers, safeties, and hunting silencers, giving the brand a strong position in the mechanical components that connect optics and firearms.

The company relocated from Schweinfurt to Bergrheinfeld in 2006, and in 2010 it introduced the ERATAC line for tactical mounts and accessories. Recknagel later added lightweight hunting silencers in 2016, showing the same emphasis on practical field equipment seen across its mounting products. In 2022, the company was acquired by Dr. Moritz Fehrer. Today, Recknagel is known for German-made mounting solutions that serve both traditional hunting rifles and more modern sporting or tactical setups.
