Nikko Stirling Panamax 3-9x40 AO SFP

• Wide-angle Panamax view: The Panamax design gives this 3-9x40 riflescope a notably broad field of view, helping the shooter pick up game faster at short to medium distances and stay aware of movement around the target.
• 3-9x magnification range: The variable zoom covers close woodland shots as well as more deliberate shooting across open ground, making the scope suitable for stalking, rimfire use and general-purpose hunting rifles.
• Adjustable objective parallax: The AO system lets the image be tuned for sharper target focus and reduced aiming error at different distances, which is especially useful for small targets and careful shot placement.
• Fully multicoated optics: Multicoated lenses improve light transmission and contrast, giving a clearer sight picture in overcast conditions, shaded cover and the low light periods when game is often active.
• Compact 1-inch build: With a 25.4 mm tube, 305.00 mm length and 370.00 g weight, the scope keeps a rifle trim and well balanced while still providing the adjustment range needed for everyday field use.

About the Nikko Stirling Panamax Series

The Nikko Stirling Panamax series sits in the brand’s 1-inch riflescope range and is built for hunters and recreational shooters who want a practical optic with a broader-than-usual field of view. A defining feature of the series is its wide-angle optical design, which the manufacturer describes as offering roughly 20% wider field of view than comparable 1-inch scopes. In use, that wider image window makes it easier to acquire targets quickly and follow movement through brush, woodland edges or uneven ground.

Across the range, Panamax scopes use hard-anodized aluminum main tubes and multicoated lenses, combining low weight with the durability expected from a hunting riflescope. The series is also built to handle field conditions, with waterproof, shockproof and nitrogen-filled construction. Different models cover several magnification classes and objective sizes, and some variants add adjustable-objective parallax or illuminated reticles depending on the model. That makes the Panamax family broad enough to cover everything from straightforward stalking setups to more deliberate small-game and recreational target use, while keeping the handling and mounting simplicity of a traditional 1-inch scope.

About the Nikko Stirling Panamax 3-9x40 AO SFP

The Nikko Stirling Panamax 3-9x40 AO SFP is a classic all-round hunting riflescope built around a 3-9x magnification range and a 40 mm objective lens. That combination suits the kind of distances most stalking, rimfire and general field rifles encounter. At 3x, the scope stays quick to shoulder and easy to use on closer targets; at 9x, it gives enough image scale for more precise shot placement on smaller quarry or targets farther out. The Panamax wide-angle layout also helps here, because the generous field of view supports faster target acquisition at the lower end of the zoom range.

This model uses a second focal plane reticle, so the reticle appearance remains the same size throughout the magnification range. In practice, that gives the shooter a consistently familiar sight picture, which many hunters prefer for simple, uncluttered aiming. The scope is non-illuminated, keeping operation straightforward and avoiding dependence on brightness controls or batteries. Its adjustable objective parallax adds useful flexibility for careful shooting, allowing the image to be tuned for better sharpness and reduced apparent reticle shift as distances change.

Mechanically, the scope is set up for practical field use with capped turrets, 1/4 MOA click adjustment and a 25.4 mm main tube. Capped turrets are well suited to hunting rifles because they protect the settings from accidental movement while the rifle is carried. The fully multicoated optics, 80.00 mm eye relief and fast-focus eyepiece all contribute to a scope that is easy to mount, quick to bring into focus and comfortable to use over longer sessions. Waterproof, fogproof and shockproof construction rounds out a design intended for regular outdoor use rather than bench-only shooting.

About Nikko Stirling

Nikko Stirling traces its beginnings to 1956, when it was established by Malcolm John Fuller. The brand focuses on sport optics for hunters and marksmen, with a product range that covers riflescopes, binoculars, reflex sights and laser rangefinders. Its riflescope families include Diamond Hunting, Diamond FFP, Metor, Panamax, Airking and Mountmaster, showing a long-standing emphasis on practical optics for field shooting and recreational use.

Within that lineup, Nikko Stirling is particularly associated with hunting and shooting optics that balance straightforward operation with purpose-specific features. The brand also offers Metor HD binoculars, PRO-T5, PRO-T4 and XT4 reflex sights, and NSLRF laser rangefinders. This breadth gives the company a clear specialization in sporting optics rather than general outdoor equipment, and the Panamax riflescope series fits that approach with its focus on usable field of view, durable construction and practical hunting-oriented configurations.
