Meprolight Tru-Dot for Ruger P345

• Self-illuminated tritium system: The Tru-Dot sight picture stays visible in low light and at night without batteries, so the pistol remains ready for defensive use at any hour.
• Three-dot alignment: A familiar 3-dot layout gives a consistent reference in daylight and darkness, helping the shooter pick up the sights quickly under stress.
• Steel construction: A steel body stands up to daily carry, repeated recoil, and routine handling better than softer materials, supporting long service life on a working handgun.
• Fixed sight design: The fixed setup keeps the profile simple and durable, making it well suited to duty, carry, and general defensive shooting where reliability matters more than adjustment range.
• Model-specific Ruger fit: Built for the Ruger P345, this sight set is intended as a direct replacement for factory sights, giving an upgrade in low-light usability without changing the pistol’s handling.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot Series

Meprolight Tru-Dot is the company’s core family of self-illuminated handgun sights, built around a simple idea: keep the sight picture consistent from bright daylight to low-light and nighttime use. The series includes fixed, adjustable, and suppressor-height variants, which places it as a broad practical line for service pistols, concealed-carry handguns, and general defensive sidearms. Across the range, the defining feature is tritium illumination, which provides a visible aiming reference without batteries or external charging.

Within the series, Meprolight offers models for numerous handgun platforms and, on selected versions, different dot color combinations. The common thread is the familiar three-dot sight picture, designed to remain easy to interpret under changing light conditions. That makes the Tru-Dot line especially relevant for shooters who want a straightforward upgrade from factory iron sights rather than a more specialized competition arrangement. The series is also built as a replacement sight family, so the emphasis stays on practical durability, dependable visibility, and a sight picture that does not require a change in technique between day and night use.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot for Ruger P345

The Meprolight Tru-Dot for Ruger P345 is a dedicated night-sight set for shooters who want to keep the handling of the Ruger pistol familiar while improving visibility when ambient light drops. Its self-illuminated tritium design means there are no switches to manage and no batteries to replace, which is a practical advantage on a defensive handgun that may be stored, carried, or used at unpredictable times. In daylight, the sight picture remains clear and conventional; in darker conditions, the glowing dots preserve the same basic alignment reference.

This model uses a fixed configuration with a 3-dot arrangement and a square rear sight. In practical terms, that combination favors fast, intuitive alignment over a more specialized target-style setup. The square rear notch gives a clean reference around the front sight, while the three-dot layout helps the eye confirm alignment quickly during close- to medium-distance handgun work. With green tritium dots, the sight picture is optimized for visibility in low light while staying uncomplicated to read under pressure.

The sight body is made from steel, which suits a pistol platform that sees repeated slide movement, holster wear, and regular recoil. At 100.00 g, the set remains a compact upgrade focused on robustness rather than added bulk. For Ruger P345 owners looking for handgun night sights that preserve a traditional iron-sight presentation while extending usability into darker conditions, this model is a practical and durable option.

About Meprolight

Meprolight was founded in 1990 as a supplier of sights and battle optics to the Israel Defense Forces. Based in Or Akiva, Israel, the company develops and manufactures optical and electro-optical sighting systems for military, law-enforcement, and civilian markets. Its product range covers conventional sights, tritium night sights, reflex optics, thermal sights, magnified optics, magnifiers, and night-vision systems.

This background is especially relevant in the handgun-sight category, where Meprolight is known for practical, duty-oriented designs that prioritize visibility, durability, and straightforward operation. The company produces sighting systems for pistols, rifles, shotguns, and carbines, and it operates as a division of SK Group. That mix of military heritage and broad product development helps explain why Meprolight remains closely associated with self-illuminated iron sights built for hard use.
