Meprolight HVS for Glock 9mm, rear sight

• Self-Illuminated Tritium: The rear sight stays visible in low light and darkness without batteries or switches, so the sight picture remains available at any hour.
• High-Visibility U-Notch Rear: The U-shaped rear with green reference dots helps the eye center the front sight quickly, supporting faster alignment at defensive handgun distances.
• Fixed Steel Construction: A fixed steel rear sight keeps the setup simple and durable, with the strength needed for everyday carry, duty use, and repeated holster wear.
• Three-Dot Sight Picture: The familiar 3-dot layout is easy to read under stress, making transitions from daylight to dim conditions more intuitive.
• Glock 9mm Fit: Built for Glock 9mm pistols, this rear sight serves as a direct handgun sight upgrade for shooters who want a more visible iron-sight reference than standard factory units.

About the Meprolight HVS Series

Meprolight HVS, later renamed Hyper-Bright in 2021, is Meprolight’s family of high-visibility pistol sights built for shooters who need a clear sight picture in both daylight and low-light conditions. The series was introduced as a practical handgun-sight upgrade for defensive carry, service pistols, and general range use, combining a rugged steel body with a sight picture designed for fast visual pickup.

A defining trait of the series is its self-illuminated tritium system, which provides constant low-light visibility without batteries. Hyper-Bright models use a three-dot layout and a U-shaped rear notch, a combination that helps the eye center the front sight naturally during rapid presentations. The family is offered for multiple handgun platforms, with front-sight contrast ring colors such as orange, green, and yellow to suit different visual preferences and lighting conditions. Across the range, the design philosophy stays consistent: durable steel construction, fixed-sight simplicity, and a bright, easy-to-read sight picture that supports quick alignment under realistic carry and duty conditions.

About the Meprolight HVS for Glock 9mm, rear sight

The Meprolight HVS for Glock 9mm rear sight is a fixed tritium night sight made for shooters who want a more visible rear reference on a Glock pistol without adding complexity. As a rear sight, its role is to frame the front blade cleanly and consistently, and the U-shaped rear notch with green dots is designed to do exactly that. The shape helps draw the eye toward the front sight, while the illuminated dots preserve the sight picture when ambient light drops.

Because it is self-illuminated, this handgun rear sight remains usable in darkness and transitional light without batteries, controls, or charging. That matters on a carry or defensive pistol, where the sight must be ready immediately and work the same way every time the pistol is presented. The familiar 3-dot alignment also shortens the learning curve for shooters moving from standard factory sights, while still offering a clearer low-light reference.

The sight body is made from steel, giving it the durability expected from a hard-use pistol component exposed to recoil, holster contact, and daily handling. Its fixed adjustment design favors reliability and a snag-free profile over user-adjustable mechanisms, making it well suited to practical carry, duty, and defensive applications where consistency matters more than on-the-fly adjustment.

About Meprolight

Meprolight was founded in 1990 as a supplier of sights and battle optics to the Israel Defense Forces. Based in Or Akiva, Israel, the company develops and manufactures optical and electro-optical sighting systems for military, law-enforcement, and civilian users. It operates as a division of SK Group.

The company’s expertise covers a broad range of aiming systems, including conventional sights, tritium night sights, reflex optics, magnified optics, magnifiers, night-vision systems, and thermal devices. Meprolight also builds sighting solutions for pistols, rifles, shotguns, and carbines, which gives the brand a strong position in both defensive handgun sights and more specialized tactical optics. That background is especially relevant to products like the HVS rear sight, where durable construction, low-light visibility, and straightforward operation are central to the design.
