Meprolight HVS for Glock 9 mm, .357 Sig, .40 S&W, .45 GAP

• Self-illuminated tritium: The Meprolight HVS sight stays visible in low light and darkness without batteries, so the aiming reference is always there when ambient light drops.
• High-visibility front sight concept: The HVS family was developed to make the front sight easier to pick up quickly, helping the shooter center attention on the front blade during fast defensive or duty-style shooting.
• Steel construction: A steel body gives the sight the durability needed for daily carry and repeated holster use, while also standing up better to hard handling than softer materials.
• Fixed sight design: With no adjustment controls to snag or shift, the sight is suited to straightforward carry use where a simple, robust setup matters more than user tuning.
• Glock-specific fit: Built for Glock pistols in 9 mm, .357 Sig, .40 S&W, and .45 GAP, this model is intended to match the slide platform correctly for a secure, purpose-made installation.

About the Meprolight HVS Series

The Meprolight HVS series was created as a family of high-visibility pistol sights for shooters who need a clear sight picture in both daylight and low-light conditions. In 2021, Meprolight renamed the HVS line Hyper-Bright, but the concept remained the same: a steel handgun sight system that combines fast visual acquisition with self-illuminated tritium, so the sights remain usable without batteries.

Within Meprolight’s handgun-sight range, this series sits as a practical option for defensive carry, service pistols, and general range use. The family is offered for multiple handgun makes, and it was introduced around the period when Meprolight presented the Hyper-Bright concept at the 2020 SHOT Show. Typical versions use a three-dot sight picture with a U-shaped rear notch, balancing quick front-sight pickup with a familiar alignment system. The series is defined less by target-style adjustment features and more by ruggedness, visibility, and immediate usability under changing light. That makes it relevant for shooters who want conventional iron sights with stronger visual emphasis than standard factory units.

About the Meprolight HVS for Glock 9 mm, .357 Sig, .40 S&W, .45 GAP

The Meprolight HVS for Glock 9 mm, .357 Sig, .40 S&W, .45 GAP is a fixed tritium night sight built for shooters who want a durable, always-ready iron-sight setup on a compatible Glock platform. Its role is straightforward: provide a visible aiming reference for defensive carry, duty use, or range practice without relying on electronics or external charging. Because the sight is self-illuminated, it remains usable when the target area is dim and standard black sights begin to disappear.

This model uses a steel housing, which is important on a pistol that may be holstered daily, handled frequently, and exposed to knocks during training or carry. The fixed configuration also suits this purpose well. Instead of adding adjustment mechanisms that can complicate the profile, it keeps the setup simple and robust. For many handgun users, that means fewer protruding parts and a sight arrangement that stays focused on fast presentation and repeatable alignment.

As a Glock-fit handgun sight, this version is intended for pistols chambered in 9 mm, .357 Sig, .40 S&W, and .45 GAP. That broad compatibility makes it relevant across several common Glock duty and defensive calibers. In practical use, the HVS concept centers on making the sight picture easier to acquire quickly, especially when speed matters and lighting is less than ideal. For shooters who prefer traditional iron sights over slide-mounted electronics, it offers a compact, battery-free solution with the low-light benefit of tritium.

About Meprolight

Meprolight was founded in 1990 as a supplier of sights and battle optics to the Israel Defense Forces. Based in Or Akiva, Israel, and operating as a division of SK Group, the company develops and manufactures optical and electro-optical sighting systems for military, law-enforcement, and civilian users. Its work spans conventional sights, tritium night sights, reflex optics, magnified optics, night-vision systems, thermal devices, and related aiming solutions.

That background is especially relevant in the handgun-sight category, where Meprolight has built a strong reputation around self-illuminated tritium products and practical combat-oriented sight design. The company’s product philosophy tends to emphasize durability, immediate usability, and compatibility with service and defensive firearms rather than purely competition-focused features. For pistol owners looking for robust iron sights with low-light capability, Meprolight is best known for combining established tritium technology with duty-oriented construction.
