Maven B5 18x56

• 18x magnification for long-distance detail: The high-power view helps separate fine features at extended range, making this binocular well suited to open-country glassing, range use, and other situations where identifying small details matters.
• 56 mm objectives with fluorite-based B.5 optics: The large front lenses gather more light, while the series’ fluorite glass design supports strong contrast and cleaner color, helping the image stay useful in difficult light.
• Abbe/Koenig roof prisms: This prism layout is valued for efficient light transmission and a bright image, which is especially helpful in a high-magnification binocular where every bit of brightness counts.
• Magnesium housing with tripod adaptability: The magnesium body keeps this large binocular durable without unnecessary bulk, and tripod compatibility lets users stabilize the 18x view for more comfortable, more precise observation.
• Long eye relief and central focusing: 18.00 mm of eye relief gives a more accommodating viewing position, while the central focus wheel makes it quicker to refine the image when scanning between subjects at varying distances.

About the Maven B5 Series

The Maven B5 series sits within Maven’s elite-level B Series and is built for users who need a binocular that favors long-distance detail over compact size. In this family, the emphasis is on extended-range viewing, low-light usability, and the kind of optical control that helps when glassing across open country or studying distant targets for long periods. The series uses fluorite glass, Abbe-Koenig prisms, and a magnesium frame, a combination chosen to support high contrast, strong color fidelity, and efficient light transmission in a robust housing.

Maven offers the B5 in 10x56, 12x56, 15x56, and 18x56 configurations, so the line covers different priorities, from wider-field observation to maximum image scale. Across the range, the B5 is waterproof, fog-proof, and tripod adaptable, which reflects its role as a serious field binocular rather than a casual carry option. Within the broader B Series lineup, the B5 stands out as the large-objective, high-detail platform for users who spend time behind glass and want a steadier, brighter view than smaller binoculars typically provide.

About the Maven B5 18x56

The Maven B5 18x56 is the highest-magnification standard model in the B5 line, built for situations where image scale matters more than hand-held convenience. With 18x magnification and a 56.00 mm objective lens, it is aimed at users who need to study distant terrain, pick apart fine detail, or observe targets at long range with more precision than a mid-power binocular can usually provide. That extra reach is especially useful in open landscapes, on the range, and in any application where a spotting scope may feel too restrictive but a conventional 10x or 12x binocular does not show enough.

The optical design combines Abbe/Koenig roof prisms with fully multicoated lenses and high stated light transmission, helping the binocular maintain a bright, contrast-rich image despite its demanding magnification. Its 3.10 mm exit pupil and 18.00 mm eye relief balance image brightness with a viewing position that remains comfortable for longer sessions, including for many eyeglass wearers. A 64.50 m/1000m field of view is naturally narrower than lower-power binoculars, but that tradeoff brings a larger image that makes distant subjects easier to evaluate.

Mechanically, the B5 18x56 is designed for stable, deliberate observation. The magnesium body keeps weight appropriate for a binocular of this size, nitrogen filling supports fogproof performance, and the waterproof construction suits demanding outdoor use. Because 18x magnification amplifies movement as well as detail, the tripod-adaptable design is particularly important here, allowing the binocular to deliver a steadier and more relaxed view when maximum resolution is the goal.

About Maven

Maven Outdoor Equipment Company was founded in 2013 in Lander, Wyoming, and it remains a United States optics company centered on direct-to-consumer sales. The company designs and sells binoculars, spotting scopes, riflescopes, rangefinders, and monoculars, with product families that include the B, C, S, CS, RS, CRS, RF, and CRF series. Within its binocular range, Maven’s B Series is known for using Japanese-produced glass and magnesium frames, while the C Series takes a lighter, polymer-frame approach.

For its higher-end optics, Maven uses Japanese components and has B and S Series products assembled in a military-standard facility in San Diego. The company also inspects and tests B and S Series optics for quality assurance at its Lander headquarters. That background is especially relevant to the B5 18x56, which belongs to the part of Maven’s lineup focused on premium materials, precise optical performance, and durable field construction.
