MAK Front Pivot Base for Sako 85/75

• Steel front pivot base: The steel construction gives the front mounting point the rigidity needed to keep a pivot mount stable under recoil and repeated removal and refitting.
• Built for Sako 75 and Sako 85 actions: This base is made for a wide range of Sako rifle variants, helping create a correct fit without improvised adapters or generic mounting parts.
• Part of the MAKlassic and MAKflex system: Compatibility with MAK pivot-mount families makes it suitable for traditional detachable scope setups where repeatable positioning matters.
• Low 6.00 mm BH height: The compact height helps keep the optic mounted close to the bore, which supports a natural cheek weld and a more consistent shooting position.
• 0 MOA inclination: A neutral base keeps the mounting geometry straightforward, making it a practical choice for general hunting and sporting rifle setups.

About the MAKlassic Series

MAKlassic is MAK’s traditional two-piece pivot-mount series for rifles and break-action firearms, with the product family documented in MAK catalogues by 2019. The series is built around rifle-specific configurations rather than one-size-fits-all mounting parts, which is important for shooters who want a mount that follows the dimensions and handling of a particular action. MAK also offers the series in different mount heights and front-foot offsets, allowing the setup to be matched to scope size and rifle geometry instead of forcing unnecessary height.

Within the range, MAKlassic includes versions with rotating locks and lever locks, as well as configurations for both scope tubes and optic rails. That makes the series relevant to hunters and sporting shooters who prefer a detachable scope mount but still want a mechanically precise interface. The pivot design suits users who remove optics for transport, switch between sighting systems, or simply value a classic detachable mounting solution with a low-profile layout.

About the MAK Front Pivot Base for Sako 85/75

The MAK Front Pivot Base for Sako 85/75 is the front mounting element for a MAK pivot-mount setup on compatible Sako rifles. As a dedicated base for models across the Sako 75 and Sako 85 families, it is intended for shooters who want a rifle-specific interface rather than a universal part. That matters in practice because a correctly matched front base is central to the alignment, repeatability, and secure lock-up of a pivot mount.

Its steel construction is well suited to a high-stress component such as the front pivot point, where resistance to wear and stable engagement are more important than saving a small amount of weight. The 32.40 mm length and 6.00 mm BH height keep the part compact, helping preserve a low overall mounting profile when paired with the rest of the system. A lower setup generally supports faster sight acquisition and a more natural head position behind the riflescope.

With 0 MOA inclination, this base is configured for straightforward hunting and sporting rifle installations where a neutral mounting angle is preferred. Compatibility with MAKlassic and MAKflex systems also makes it useful for users building or servicing a detachable pivot mount around established MAK components. In short, this is a purpose-built spare or replacement base for maintaining a clean, secure, rifle-specific Sako mounting solution.

About MAK

MAK is a German brand associated with Kilic Feintechnik GmbH in Schwebheim, Germany. The company develops and manufactures optical mounts, optics, and electronic products, giving it a broad role in the shooting-equipment sector rather than focusing on a single product type. Its catalogue includes mounting systems alongside optics such as MAKpro riflescopes, MAKdot red-dot sights, and MAKstorm prism sights.

MAK also produces electronic accessories, including the MAKcam for riflescopes and spotting scopes, and the group identifies patented solutions among its optics, mounts, and electronics. Its products are aimed at civilian and government markets, including hunters, sports shooters, and professional users. That background is relevant here because it shows MAK’s experience in building mounting systems as part of a wider, integrated optics and accessories programme.
