Leica Geovid Pro 10x42 - Black Product description

  • 10x42 all-round format: The 10x magnification gives more reach for judging game and terrain at distance, while the 42 mm objectives keep the binocular compact enough for regular carry in the field.
  • Integrated laser rangefinder: Distance readings out to 2950.00 m help remove guesswork on long observations and shooting decisions, with fast measurement in 0.3 s for moving or changing situations.
  • Applied Ballistics and Bluetooth: Onboard ballistic software and app connectivity let the binocular do more than measure distance, helping translate range data into practical hold or correction information.
  • Perger-Porro prism system: This prism design supports strong contrast, good depth perception, and efficient light transmission, which is especially useful at dawn, dusk, and in broken terrain.
  • Magnesium housing with AquaDura coating: The light but robust body, water protection, nitrogen filling, and water-repellent lens coating make the binocular easier to rely on in wet weather, cold mornings, and hard field use.

About the Leica Geovid Pro Series

The Leica Geovid Pro series sits in Leica’s premium hunting-optics range and is built around a clear idea: combine high-grade binocular optics, laser rangefinding, and ballistic calculation in one field-ready instrument. Leica introduced the first Geovid models decades ago, and the Pro generation develops that concept for hunters who need both observation and shot-support functions in the same binocular. Within the lineup, the series spans 32 mm, 42 mm, and 56 mm configurations, giving users options for lighter carry, all-round use, or stronger low-light performance.

A defining feature of the Geovid Pro family is its use of Applied Ballistics Ultralight, with the option to extend capability through an Elite upgrade. Together with Bluetooth connectivity and the Leica Ballistics app, the series is designed for hunters making informed decisions at varying distances rather than relying on a separate rangefinder and binocular. The Geovid Pro models are especially associated with hunting use, including situations where angle, distance, and ballistic correction matter. Across the series, Leica combines its binocular design experience with multifunction electronics, keeping the format practical for field carry while preserving the handling expected from premium hunting binoculars.

About the Leica Geovid Pro 10x42 - Black

The Leica Geovid Pro 10x42 - Black is the distance-oriented all-round model in the 42 mm Geovid Pro line. Its 10.00 x magnification gives more image scale than an 8x binocular, which helps when glassing open ground, checking antler detail, or reading terrain features farther out. At the same time, the 42.00 mm objective lenses keep the instrument more manageable than larger low-light binoculars, making it a practical choice for hunters who move between woodland edges, fields, and mountain ground in a single day.

Its ranging system reaches 2950.00 m with +/- 0.5 m accuracy and a fast 0.3 s measurement time, so it can provide useful data quickly when the target is stationary or when conditions are changing. The built-in inclinometer, scan mode, ballistic software, and Bluetooth connectivity make the binocular more than a simple distance meter; they turn it into a field tool for ranging, angle compensation, and ballistic support in one unit. The internal display keeps the measurement information in the viewing path, which is faster and less disruptive than shifting to a separate device.

Optically, the Perger-Porro prism system, 91% light transmission, and AquaDura lens coating support a bright, high-contrast image and better resistance to rain, dirt, and smearing. The 16.00 mm eye relief is helpful for eyeglass wearers, while the central focusing system and open-bridge magnesium body make the binocular easier to handle securely with gloves or in wet conditions. Nitrogen filling, waterproof construction, and fogproof performance reinforce its role as a serious hunting binocular with integrated rangefinding.

About Leica

Leica Camera AG traces its history to 1869, when Ernst Leitz took over Carl Kellner’s Optical Institute in Wetzlar. The company remains headquartered in Wetzlar, Germany, and is known for precision optics across cameras, lenses, and sports optics. In this category, Leica Sport Optics covers binoculars, spotting scopes, riflescopes, and rangefinders, reflecting a long-standing focus on combining optical quality with practical field use.

Leica’s binocular heritage goes back to 1907, and the company later introduced the Trinovid line in 1958. For rangefinding binoculars, one of its most important milestones came in 1992 with the introduction of the Geovid, the first binocular with an integrated rangefinder. That background is directly relevant here: Leica’s Geovid models are built around the combination of observation optics and laser distance measurement, while the Rangemaster line extends the company’s expertise into compact laser rangefinders.

Hi optics-trade.eu Looking to buy a Leica Geovid 10x42 (have also been looking at Steiner Ranger LRF 10x42 and actually also the Steiner Ranger Xtreme 10x42 without LRF). What is the diffrence between: Leica Geovid Pro, HD-R, 3200.com. I cannot really figure it out. The Binocular will be for hunting/stalking and nature in general. All the best
