Konus Konusvue 8x40

• Wide-angle 8x40 format: The 8x magnification gives a steady, easy-to-hold view, while the wide-angle design helps scan woodland edges, open fields, and moving subjects more quickly.
• Porro prism optical system: Porro prisms provide a naturally spacious image and strong depth perception, which makes it easier to judge distance and pick out details in layered terrain.
• 5 mm exit pupil: This exit pupil balances brightness and portability well, giving a comfortable view in general daylight use and during the lower-light periods when game is often active.
• Full-metal body with rubber armouring: The metal construction adds durability, while the rubber covering improves grip and handling, especially in cold weather or when wearing gloves.
• Central focusing design: A central focus wheel allows quick adjustment with either hand, which is practical when shifting attention between near and distant subjects in the field.

About the Konus Konusvue Series

The Konus Konusvue series sits in Konus’s classic binocular range and is built around a straightforward, traditional Porro-prism layout. The series includes 7x50, 8x40 wide-angle, and 10x50 wide-angle models, giving users a choice between easier handheld use and more reach for longer observation. Across the line, Konus combines full-metal construction with rubber armouring, a design that favors durability and a secure hold over unnecessary complexity.

All Konusvue binoculars use Porro prisms, coated optics, and a central focusing system. In practice, that means a roomy image, simple operation, and the familiar handling many hunters and outdoor users still prefer in a classic binocular. The wide-angle 8x40 and 10x50 versions are especially suited to scanning broader areas, while the series as a whole remains tripod-adaptable for more stable observation when needed. The Konusvue family is aimed at users who want dependable everyday binoculars with traditional mechanics, practical optical performance, and a robust body that stands up well to regular field use.

About the Konus Konusvue 8x40

The Konus Konusvue 8x40 is the most balanced model in the series for general-purpose use. Its 8x magnification is strong enough to reveal detail at distance without becoming difficult to hold steady, and the 40.00 mm objective keeps the binocular compact enough for regular carrying. Because this is a wide-angle version, it delivers a broad view that helps when following moving subjects or scanning large sections of terrain without constantly repositioning the binocular.

The 143.00 m/1000m field of view is one of the key practical advantages of this model. It gives the user more visual context, which is useful for hunting, hiking, and casual wildlife observation where quick target acquisition matters. The 5.00 mm exit pupil also contributes to a comfortable image, offering a good balance between brightness and manageable size for daytime and early-evening use.

Its Porro prism construction supports a naturally deep, three-dimensional view, while the central focusing system keeps operation simple and fast. The 530.00 g weight helps the binocular remain easy to carry for extended periods, and the metal body with single-hinge construction gives it a solid, traditional feel in the hand. This is a classic hunting binocular and outdoor binocular for users who value a wide view, uncomplicated mechanics, and durable construction in a familiar format.

About Konus

Konus was founded in 1979 in Verona, Italy, and has built its name around practical optics for field and sporting use. The company specializes in hunting and target shooting optics, while its wider catalogue also includes binoculars and other outdoor observation products. Konus Italia Group S.p.A. is based in Settimo di Pescantina, Italy, and the brand is known for offering traditional optical designs alongside more specialized shooting products.

Within riflescopes, Konus has developed lines such as the Konuspro M-30 and T-30, and it has also produced optics with laser-etched reticles. That background is relevant here because it reflects the company’s long focus on functional, field-oriented optical equipment rather than novelty features. In binoculars, the same approach appears as straightforward mechanics, durable construction, and configurations intended for real outdoor use.
