Kaps TLB 1.5-6x42 with illumination

• 1.5-6x magnification range: The low 1.5x setting keeps the sight picture fast and open for driven game, while 6x gives enough precision for stalking and careful shot placement at longer field distances.
• 42 mm objective lens: This objective size balances light gathering with manageable size, giving a bright image for twilight use without making the riflescope overly bulky on a hunting rifle.
• FFP illuminated 4 TLB reticle: With the reticle in the first focal plane, the aiming pattern scales with magnification, and the red illuminated center remains easy to pick up in poor light and fast-moving hunting situations.
• Capped 0.10 MIL turrets: The capped design protects the settings from accidental movement in the field, while 10 mm/100 m clicks still allow straightforward zeroing and practical correction when needed.
• 30 mm nitrogen-filled tube: The 30 mm construction provides solid adjustment range, and the nitrogen-filled, waterproof, fogproof and shockproof build supports dependable use in changing weather and rough hunting conditions.

About the Kaps TLB Series

The Kaps TLB series sits in the company’s rifle-scope range as a line built around practical hunting use, with models covering 1-4x24, 1.5-6x42, 3-12x50, and 3-12x56. Across the series, Kaps keeps the design focused on the needs of hunters who move between driven hunting, stalking and lower-light observation rather than on highly specialized target features. A consistent theme is the use of a 30 mm central tube, giving the scopes a familiar mounting format and a robust mechanical layout.

The series is also defined by its hunting-oriented optical setup. TLB models are parallax-free at 100 m, which suits the distances at which many hunting shots are taken and keeps operation simple in the field. Kaps also gives the series an eye relief of about 89 mm, helping maintain a comfortable shooting position on rifles with noticeable recoil. Depending on configuration, TLB scopes are available with ring mounting or a mounting rail, and the illuminated TLB reticle is intended for driven hunting as well as twilight and night hunting. In practical terms, the series combines straightforward handling, first focal plane reticle use and field-ready proportions for hunters who want one riflescope to cover several common hunting scenarios.

About the Kaps TLB 1.5-6x42 with illumination

The Kaps TLB 1.5-6x42 with illumination is a versatile hunting riflescope designed for the overlap between driven hunting, stalking and twilight use. Its magnification range is wide enough to stay quick at short distances while still offering the image scale needed for more deliberate shots in open ground or at the edge of legal light. The 42 mm objective supports a bright, usable image without pushing the scope into the larger, heavier class associated with dedicated low-light high-magnification optics.

A key part of this model’s character is the 4 TLB reticle in the first focal plane. Because the reticle changes size with magnification, its proportions remain consistent relative to the target, which is useful for hunters who may change magnification during a stalk or while waiting on a stand. The red illuminated reticle, described as daylight-usable, helps the eye find the aiming point quickly against dark game, woodland backgrounds or low-contrast scenes at dusk. This makes the scope especially practical when speed matters but precise placement is still required.

Mechanically, the scope uses capped turrets with 0.10 MIL clicks, a sensible arrangement for hunting rifles that are carried through brush, vehicles and high seats. The caps reduce the chance of accidental adjustment, while the available 22.00 mrad elevation and windage range leaves ample room for zeroing. A 90.00 mm eye relief, fast-focus eyepiece, fully multicoated lenses and nitrogen-filled waterproof, fogproof and shockproof construction complete a design that favors dependable field use over unnecessary complexity.

About Kaps

Karl Kaps GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1946 and is based in Aßlar, Germany, near Wetzlar, a region long associated with optical manufacturing. The company added riflescopes to its product range in 1955 and has continued to develop optics for hunting and sport shooting alongside binoculars for hunting and sporting use. This background gives Kaps a clear focus on practical field optics rather than a broad consumer-electronics approach.

Within its riflescope range, Kaps offers lines such as TLB, Classic Line and Tactical, covering traditional hunting use as well as more specialized shooting applications. Kaps riflescopes are offered with illuminated and non-illuminated reticles, and the company is particularly associated with first focal plane reticle layouts in its riflescope designs. For hunters and sport shooters, that translates into products built around familiar optical principles, straightforward mechanics and manufacturing rooted in German optics expertise.
