HI VIZ LiteWave Front Sight, S&W M&P 22

• LiteWave fiber-optic front sight: the exposed LitePipe gathers ambient light to create a bright front reference that is easier to pick up quickly in daylight and mixed lighting.
• Interchangeable LitePipes: the sight accepts different LitePipe colors, letting the shooter tune the sight picture for range work, training, or field conditions.
• Holster-friendly exoskeleton design: the protective LiteWave structure helps shield the fiber while keeping a clean profile that resists snagging during draw and handling.
• Steel construction: the all-steel body gives this handgun sight the rigidity needed for regular carry and repeated range use.
• Fixed 3-dot alignment: paired with a compatible rear sight, the green front dot supports fast visual indexing without adding adjustment complexity.

About the Hi Viz LITEWAVE Series

Hi Viz LITEWAVE is a handgun and rifle sight family built around a simple idea: make the front sight easier to see while keeping the unit durable enough for regular field and range use. Introduced in November 2014, the series uses fiber-optic LitePipes that collect ambient light and present a clear aiming reference in daytime conditions and other environments where a bright front sight helps speed up alignment. A defining feature of the series is the diagonal-wave exoskeleton, which exposes more of the LitePipe to light while also protecting it from knocks and abrasion.

Within the manufacturer’s lineup, LITEWAVE sits as a practical option for shooters who want more visibility than plain black irons without moving to electronic sights. The series is used across competition, recreation, education, hunting, and general daytime shooting, and many models support interchangeable LitePipes so the sight color can be changed to suit the background or personal preference. That combination of visibility, protected fiber construction, and straightforward mechanical design is what gives the LITEWAVE range its broad appeal across different firearms and shooting styles.

About the HI VIZ LiteWave Front Sight, S&W M&P 22

The HI VIZ LiteWave Front Sight, S&W M&P 22 is a dedicated front handgun sight made for the full-size Smith & Wesson M&P 22. Its role is straightforward but important: it gives the shooter a brighter, more distinct front aiming point than a conventional plain blade, which helps reduce the time needed to acquire the sight picture on the range or during small-game and field use. The installed green fiber-optic insert stands out well against many common backgrounds, making it easier to track the front sight through recoil and return to alignment for follow-up shots.

This model belongs to the interchangeable LiteWave pattern, so one of its practical advantages is flexibility. The ability to change LitePipe colors lets the shooter adapt the sight picture to lighting, target contrast, or personal preference rather than being locked into a single visual setup. The steel housing adds durability, while the fixed design keeps the sight simple and stable once installed. Because it is a non-illuminated fiber-optic sight, it relies on available light rather than batteries, which suits shooters who want a low-maintenance upgrade for training and recreational use. The LiteWave protective structure also helps guard the fiber while maintaining a compact profile that works well on a rimfire pistol carried in a case, used on the range, or handled frequently in practice sessions.

About HiViz

HiViz began in 1996 with a single shooting-related product and grew into a specialist maker of sights and accessories for handguns, shotguns, and rifles. Based in Laramie, Wyoming, United States, the company is known for building highly visible sighting systems that emphasize fast target acquisition and straightforward installation. Its product range includes fiber-optic sights, tritium sight options, recoil pads, and related shooting accessories.

A key part of the brand’s identity is its use of removable and reusable LitePipes, which allow many HiViz sights to be maintained or reconfigured without replacing the entire unit. In the LiteWave family, HiViz also uses an exoskeleton design with an integral LitePipe locking system, combining visibility with protection for the fiber element. That focus on practical sight visibility has made the company a familiar name among shooters looking for iron-sight upgrades for sporting and training firearms.
