Hawke Vantage 34 HD 3-15x44 Product description

  • First Focal Plane Reticle (FFP Mil Pro II or MOA Pro II): The reticle is positioned in the first focal plane, scaling proportionally with magnification across the entire 3–15× range. All subtension values — holdovers, ranging marks, and wind correction references — remain accurate at every power setting, removing the need to apply magnification-specific corrections during shooting. The reticle subtensions are calibrated at 15×, the scope's maximum magnification.
  • 34mm Mono-Tube Chassis: The 34mm aluminium mono-tube provides substantially greater internal volume than a standard 30mm design, enabling 44 MRAD (or 150 MOA) of elevation and windage travel. This generous adjustment range makes the scope suitable for demanding long-range applications where a conventional 30mm tube would not provide sufficient mechanical headroom.
  • Zero Stop Elevation Turret: The exposed elevation turret incorporates a zero stop mechanism that physically prevents rotation below the shooter's set zero. After dialling elevation for a long-range shot, returning to the original zero requires only rotating the turret clockwise until it stops — no click counting required. The exposed, locking windage turret is resettable but without a zero stop, consistent with its use as a set-and-hold field adjustment.
  • Dual-Colour Illumination with 5 Brightness Levels: The reticle is illuminated in both red and green across 5 intensity settings, with off positions between each step, controlled via a stepped rheostat. Dual-colour illumination allows the shooter to choose the aim point colour that provides the best contrast against the current target background and ambient lighting conditions.
  • Wide Field of View for a 34mm FFP Scope: At minimum magnification, the scope provides a field of view of 13.6 metres at 100 metres — a notably broad sight picture for a 34mm FFP riflescope in the 3–15× class, which supports situational awareness and target identification before the shooter adjusts magnification for the shot.
  • Side Focus Parallax Adjustment: The side-mounted parallax knob covers 9 metres to infinity, allowing precise parallax correction across a wide range of shooting distances without breaking the firing position — important when using a first focal plane reticle across varying magnification levels and target distances.
  • H2 Optical System with 11-Layer Fully Multi-Coated Lenses: The H2 optical system with 11-layer fully multi-coated lenses provides consistent light transmission and a clear image across the full magnification range. An exit pupil of 14.7 mm at 3× supports image brightness at low magnification in reduced light conditions.
  • XL Removable Zoom Throw Lever: The included XL zoom throw lever enables rapid, positive magnification changes without breaking cheek weld — particularly useful when transitioning quickly between close-range and extended-range shooting scenarios or when operating the scope while wearing gloves.

About the Vantage HD 34 FFP Series

The Hawke Vantage HD 34 FFP series represents Hawke's entry into the 34mm first focal plane riflescope category within the Vantage product family, offering FFP reticle performance and a larger tube diameter at an accessible price point. Built on the H2 optical system, the series is aimed at target shooters, precision shooting enthusiasts, and recreational long-range shooters who require a mechanically capable FFP scope without the cost associated with higher-tier optical systems.

All Vantage HD 34 FFP models feature a 34mm aluminium mono-tube chassis, providing 44 MRAD (or 150 MOA) of elevation and windage travel — a meaningful advantage over 30mm designs for long-range applications. The series uses zero stop elevation turrets and exposed, locking windage turrets, combined with 11-layer fully multi-coated lenses, dual-colour illumination in red and green, and side focus parallax adjustment from 9 metres to infinity. The wide-angle optical design provides a broader field of view at minimum magnification than is typical for 34mm designs in these magnification classes.

The Vantage HD 34 FFP series comprises two riflescope configurations: the 3-15x44 for general precision and hunting use, and the 5-25x56 for applications requiring higher magnification and greater light-gathering capacity at extended distances. Both configurations are available in Mil Pro II (MRAD) and MOA Pro II reticle variants, allowing the shooter to select the measurement system that matches their ballistic workflow.

About the Model (Hawke Vantage HD 34 FFP 3-15x44)

The Hawke Vantage HD 34 FFP 3-15x44 is a first focal plane riflescope designed for precision shooting, target shooting, and hunting applications where accurate reticle subtensions across the full magnification range and a generous mechanical adjustment range are priorities. The 3–15× magnification range provides a 5× zoom ratio with a field of view of 13.6 metres at 100 metres at minimum power — practical for target identification at moderate distances — and a 15× upper end that delivers adequate image scale for precision shot placement at longer ranges.

The 44mm objective lens, combined with the H2 optical system and 11-layer fully multi-coated lenses, provides consistent light transmission and a clear image across the magnification range. An exit pupil of 14.7 mm at 3× ensures an accessible sight picture at low power in reduced light conditions. The 102mm of eye relief provides comfortable clearance across a range of rifle platforms.

The scope is available in two reticle variants. The Mil Pro II version (art. no. 14620) features MRAD-spaced holdover markings calibrated at 15×, paired with exposed turrets offering 1/10 MRAD click values and 44 MRAD of travel on both elevation and windage. The MOA Pro II version (art. no. 14621) uses MOA-spaced holdover markings calibrated at 15×, paired with ¼ MOA click-value turrets offering 150 MOA of travel on both axes. In both variants, the reticle is illuminated in red and green with 5 brightness levels and off positions between each step.

The elevation turret on both variants incorporates a zero stop mechanism — exposed, resettable, and physically prevented from rotating below the set zero. The windage turret is exposed and locking, but without a zero stop. Side-mounted parallax adjustment covers 9 metres to infinity. The fast-focus eyebell allows rapid dioptre adjustment, and the included XL zoom throw lever enables fast magnification changes without breaking cheek weld. The mono-tube is nitrogen purged and fully sealed, providing waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof performance rated for all calibres. Overall length is 336 mm and weight is 908 g.

About Hawke

Hawke Optics is a British optics brand registered in England and Wales, with products distributed across Europe, North America, and international markets. The company produces a broad range of optical products including riflescopes, airgun scopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, red dot sights, and laser rangefinders, covering applications from hunting and precision shooting to nature observation and marine use.

Hawke organises its riflescope lineup into distinct optical system tiers — from the entry-level H2 through H5 to the flagship H7 — with each tier reflecting the glass specification, coating technology, and mechanical feature level of the products within it. The Vantage series is built on the H2 system, representing the entry level of Hawke's riflescope range and providing a broad selection of configurations covering a wide range of hunting, shooting, and field disciplines at an accessible price point.
