Hawke Sidewinder 30 MOA 6-24x56

• 6-24x magnification range: Covers precise zeroing, load development and longer-range target work without giving up enough low-end magnification for deliberate field shooting.
• 56 mm objective lens: The large front lens supports a bright sight picture and a forgiving image at practical magnifications, which helps when aiming in poor light or against dark backgrounds.
• First focal plane illuminated reticle: The reticle scales with magnification, so holdover and wind references stay consistent across the zoom range while red illumination improves visibility against complex targets.
• Lockable tactical turrets: Resettable exposed turrets are easier to dial for elevation and windage, while the locking function helps prevent accidental movement during transport or positional shooting.
• Side focus from 9 m to infinity: Close parallax adjustment makes the scope more versatile across short and long distances, with sharper target definition and more precise aiming.

About the Hawke Sidewinder Series

Hawke Sidewinder sits near the top of Hawke’s riflescope range and was developed for shooters who want a more advanced optic for hunting and long-range shooting. Hawke added first focal plane Sidewinder models in 2018, then redesigned the line in 2020 around a shared 30 mm platform with H5 optics. That redesign brought together the features many precision shooters look for in one family: 18-layer multi-coated Crown glass, illuminated reticles with an adjustable multi-LED system, and side-focus adjustment for parallax control across a wide range of distances.

The series is built around practical field use rather than minimal weight. A 30 mm main tube gives the scopes the adjustment travel and mechanical strength expected in tactical optics, while the fast-focus eyepiece with lock ring and removable magnification lever support quick setup and easier handling behind the rifle. On the mechanical side, the redesigned Sidewinder line uses resettable locking turrets with 1/10 mrad clicks and a witness window, reflecting its emphasis on repeatable dialing. Across the range, Sidewinder models are aimed at shooters who need a capable crossover optic for target work, varminting and longer-distance hunting where reliable tracking and a usable reticle matter as much as image quality.

About the Hawke Sidewinder 30 MOA 6-24x56

The Hawke Sidewinder 30 MOA 6-24x56 is configured as a high-magnification riflescope for shooters who want a practical balance between field use and deliberate precision work. Its 6-24x zoom range gives enough low-end magnification for stable target acquisition at moderate distances, while the upper end is better suited to small targets, load testing and longer-range shot placement where seeing exact point of aim matters. The 56.00 mm objective lens helps maintain a bright image and a comfortable exit pupil at realistic working magnifications, which is useful when shooting in overcast conditions or near the edges of legal light.

This model uses a first focal plane layout with an illuminated reticle, so the reticle’s subtensions remain proportional through the magnification range. In practice, that makes holdovers and wind references more intuitive when magnification changes between stages or shooting positions. Red illumination adds contrast without overcomplicating the sight picture. The side-focus system adjusts from 9 m to infinity, allowing the image to be tuned for close-range precision as well as distant targets while reducing parallax error.

Mechanically, the scope is set up for dialing. Its lockable tactical turrets combine exposed operation with protection against accidental movement, and the available 69.00 MOA of elevation and windage adjustment gives useful working range for zeroing and trajectory correction. A 30 mm tube, nitrogen filling, and waterproof, fogproof and shockproof construction make the scope suitable for regular outdoor use, while the fast-focus eyepiece helps bring the reticle into sharp focus quickly before shooting.

About Hawke

Hawke Optics is headquartered in the United Kingdom and focuses on sporting optics across several categories, including riflescopes, binoculars, spotting scopes and laser rangefinders. Its riflescope catalogue spans multiple families such as Frontier, Sidewinder, Endurance, Airmax and Vantage, covering general hunting optics, airgun use and more target-oriented models. Hawke also produces optics for crossbows, shotguns and airguns, which reflects a broad approach to shooting applications rather than a single niche.

Within riflescopes, Hawke offers both first-focal-plane and second-focal-plane systems, allowing different reticle styles and use cases across the range. In its higher-tier optics, the company has also used technologies such as multi-coated optics and a patented zero-shift anti-recoil reticle gimbal. That mix of broad product coverage and application-specific design has made Hawke a well-known name among shooters looking for practical optics with clearly defined features for hunting, target shooting and general field use.
