ERA-TAC M4-Style Offset sight (Kit) 1.8mm post

• 45° offset mounting: The sight sits at an angle on the Picatinny rail, letting the shooter roll the rifle and engage close targets quickly without removing the primary optic.
• Folding front and rear sights: Both sights fold down when not needed, keeping the rifle streamlined and reducing the chance of snagging or impact damage during transport and field use.
• Modular left- or right-hand setup: The design can be converted for left-handed shooters, making the kit easier to integrate into different rifle setups and shooting styles.
• Tool-free height-adjustable front post: The replaceable 1.8 mm post can be adjusted without tools, so zeroing and fine corrections are simpler at the range or in the field.
• Aluminum hard-use construction: The anodized aluminum build keeps weight reasonable while providing the durability expected from a sight intended for tactical, sporting, and backup use.

About the ERA-TAC Accessories Series

ERA-TAC Accessories is the support line around the brand’s tactical mounting system, developed to complement rifles, optics, and rail-mounted equipment with the same practical approach seen in ERATAC mounts. The series covers a broad range of add-ons, from adapters and rail accessories to backup sights and specialized interface components, all aimed at shooters who need a modular rifle setup rather than a fixed one. Within this family, Picatinny-compatible accessories play an important role because they let the user adapt a rifle for changing distances, sighting systems, and mission profiles.

A defining trait of the series is its focus on compact mechanical design and straightforward field handling. The backup-sight and offset-sight variants use a spring-loaded folding mechanism, low folded height, and replaceable sight elements that can be adjusted without tools. In practice, that gives the shooter a secondary aiming system that stays out of the way until needed, yet remains quick to deploy. The range also includes standard and HK-style front-sight variants, along with different post widths, so the sight picture can be matched to personal preference and intended use.

About the ERA-TAC M4-Style Offset sight (Kit) 1.8mm post

The ERA-TAC M4-Style Offset sight (Kit) 1.8mm post is built for rifles that already carry a primary optic but still need a fast, mechanically simple secondary sighting option. Mounted directly to a Picatinny rail at a 45° angle, it allows a rapid transition to close-range aiming by rotating the rifle slightly instead of removing or bypassing the main scope. That makes it especially useful on rifles set up for mixed-distance work, where a magnified optic handles the longer shot and offset iron sights cover the short one.

This kit includes a folding front sight and folding rear sight in an M4-style configuration, giving the shooter a familiar sight picture and a compact profile when the sights are stowed. The 1.8 mm post offers a clear, robust front reference that is easy to pick up quickly, which is often preferable when speed matters more than the finest possible aiming point. Because the post is replaceable and height-adjustable without tools, the sight can be zeroed or adapted with less effort than fixed-pattern backup sights.

The modular construction also allows left-handed conversion, which is a practical advantage on rifles configured around individual shooting preference or specific accessory placement. Finished in black anodized aluminum, the sight combines low bulk with the durability expected from a backup system that may spend most of its life folded, yet must work immediately when called into use.

About ERA-TAC

ERA-TAC is a brand of Recknagel GmbH & Co. KG in Bergrheinfeld, Germany. Recknagel introduced the ERATAC line in 2010 to serve civilian, law-enforcement, and military users who needed robust tactical mounts and accessories rather than traditional sporting-only hardware. The brand’s range includes riflescope mounts, Picatinny rails, backup sights, and other weapon accessories for hunting, sport shooting, and tactical applications.

A key part of the brand identity is its emphasis on machined aluminum construction and hard-anodized surfaces, giving ERATAC products the mechanical consistency and environmental resistance expected from hard-use mounting equipment. That focus has helped make the brand well known among shooters looking for precise, durable mounting and sighting components made in Germany.
