EGW HD Mosin Nagant 91/30 Picatinny Rail

• Heavy-Duty Construction: The HD design combines a 7075 T6 aluminum top section with a 4140 steel lower base, giving the rail the rigidity needed for a stable optic platform on the Mosin Nagant 91/30.
• No Major Rifle Modification: This mount uses the rear sight housing, so it can be installed without unsoldering parts or making permanent changes to the rifle, which keeps the conversion more straightforward and reversible.
• Full-Length Picatinny Interface: The one-piece rail provides continuous cross slots for flexible ring placement, making it easier to set correct eye relief and fit different scope sizes or shooting positions.
• 0 MOA Geometry: The 0 MOA inclination suits general-purpose zeroing and typical hunting or range distances, preserving more of the riflescope’s internal adjustment for practical setups.
• Made in the USA: Built in the USA with included mounting hardware, the rail is designed as a durable upgrade for shooters who want a cleaner, more secure optic mounting solution on a classic rifle.

About the EGW Picatinny Rails Series

EGW Picatinny Rails are built around the idea of giving rifles a one-piece Picatinny platform that is simple, rigid, and easy to match with modern optics. Within EGW’s broader mounting lineup, this series serves shooters who want a practical upgrade from older mounting arrangements or factory bases, especially when consistent ring alignment and secure optic placement matter. The family is known for rails machined from 6061-T6 aluminum in its standard-duty form, with a design that emphasizes straightforward installation and dependable fit.

A defining feature of the series is the lengthwise center valley, a detail originally intended to help accommodate backup iron sights while also trimming unnecessary mass from the rail. Across the range, EGW offers different elevation options such as 0, 15, or 20 MOA on appropriate models, allowing the same platform concept to serve everything from general hunting rifles to longer-range setups. In practical use, the series is valued for giving shooters broad flexibility in ring spacing, eye-relief adjustment, and optic choice while keeping the mounting system compact, durable, and easy to integrate with common Picatinny-compatible accessories.

About the EGW HD Mosin Nagant 91/30 Picatinny Rail

The EGW HD Mosin Nagant 91/30 Picatinny Rail is a purpose-built optic base for shooters who want to fit a modern riflescope to the historic Mosin Nagant 91/30 without resorting to extensive gunsmithing. Its key advantage is the way it mounts through the rear sight housing, allowing the original rear leaf sight to be removed and the base installed without unsoldering components. That makes it a practical option for owners who want a more stable optics setup while avoiding major permanent alteration to the rifle.

This model uses a one-piece Picatinny layout with full-length cross slots, so ring placement can be adjusted to suit different scope lengths and eye-relief requirements. The 0 MOA inclination is the sensible choice for general shooting distances, where the goal is a straightforward zero rather than adding built-in elevation for extended-range dialing. EGW’s HD construction is especially relevant here: the mount pairs a 7075 T6 aluminum upper section with a 4140 steel lower section, combining low weight with the strength needed to hold zero on a full-power rifle. A hardcoat matte black finish helps resist wear, while the compact 149.00 mm overall length keeps the rail proportionate to the rifle. Compatible with Picatinny or Weaver scope rings, it gives the 91/30 a more versatile and secure optics interface for hunting, target shooting, or general rifle modernization.

About EGW

EGW, short for Evolution Gun Works, was founded by George Smith in 1991. The company began as a gunsmithing shop in Doylestown, Pennsylvania and later established itself in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, United States. EGW focuses on designing and manufacturing firearm parts and accessories, with particular strength in scope mounts and scope rings, alongside red dot mounts, thread protectors, 1911 components, and AR and rifle parts.

That background matters in the mounting category because EGW’s product range is built around practical fit, machining quality, and compatibility across a wide variety of firearms. Its long-standing emphasis on optic-mounting solutions has made the brand well known among shooters looking for American-made bases and rails that adapt older rifles and modern platforms alike to current optics.
