Crimson Trace Hardline 4-12x40 Mildot

• 4-12x magnification range: Covers the practical middle ground between close-to-medium hunting distances and more deliberate shots farther out, so one scope can suit stalking, range work, and general-purpose rifle use.
• Mildot SFP reticle: The familiar second focal plane layout gives a clean sight picture at lower power while still providing holdover and ranging references when the shooter has time to use them carefully.
• Side focus parallax adjustment: A side-mounted adjustment set to 100 YD helps sharpen the image and reduce aiming error without forcing the shooter to break position.
• Fully multi-coated optics with 90% light transmission: The coating package supports a brighter, higher-contrast image, which helps with target definition in mixed light and against darker backgrounds.
• Capped turrets and waterproof nitrogen-purged build: The protected adjustment system and sealed tube suit field rifles that are carried often, exposed to weather, and expected to hold zero with minimal fuss.

About the Crimson Trace Hardline Series

Crimson Trace Hardline riflescopes are positioned as optics for tactical and target shooters, with a design that balances practical field durability and straightforward aiming systems. The series spans multiple magnification classes, from low-power models suited to fast shooting through higher-magnification versions intended for more deliberate work at distance. Across the line, Crimson Trace uses second focal plane reticles, giving shooters a familiar sight picture that stays visually consistent as magnification changes.

The Hardline family is built around 1-inch and 30 mm tubes, depending on model, and the series is defined by a simple, serviceable mechanical layout rather than unnecessary complexity. Fully multi-coated lenses, nitrogen-purged construction, and waterproof sealing are recurring features throughout the range, making the series suitable for hunting optics as well as range and tactical use. Reticle choices such as BDC, MR1-MIL, MR1-MOA, and Mildot let shooters choose between fast holdover references and more measurement-oriented aiming patterns, depending on rifle setup and intended distance.

About the Crimson Trace Hardline 4-12x40 Mildot

The Crimson Trace Hardline 4-12x40 Mildot is a versatile riflescope built for shooters who want enough magnification for careful shot placement without moving to a larger, heavier optic. Its 4-12x range works well on general hunting rifles and practical range setups, offering a wide enough view at the low end for target acquisition while giving noticeably more precision at the top end for small targets or longer distances. The 40.00 mm objective lens keeps the scope trim and easy to mount while still providing useful image brightness for normal daylight and fading-light use.

The Mildot reticle in the second focal plane suits shooters who prefer a traditional sight picture with reference marks for holdover, wind calls, and basic ranging. Because the reticle does not illuminate, the view stays uncluttered and simple, which many hunters and target shooters prefer in bright daylight conditions. A 1/4 MOA click value and 65.00 MOA of elevation and windage adjustment give enough correction for common zeroing and trajectory work, while the capped turrets protect settings from accidental movement during transport or field carry.

Side parallax adjustment set at 100 YD adds practical usability by letting the shooter refine image sharpness and reduce apparent reticle shift from shooting position. The 25.4 mm tube, fully multicoated lenses, nitrogen filling, and waterproof construction make this model a sensible choice for a working rifle that may see changing weather, repeated handling, and regular use across both hunting and target applications.

About Crimson Trace

Crimson Trace was established in 1994 and built its reputation around firearm-mounted aiming and illumination products. The company is especially known for laser sight lines such as Lasergrips, Laserguard, and Rail Master, along with the Lightguard family of firearm-mounted lights. A defining part of the brand’s identity is Instinctive Activation, a control concept that uses pressure pads placed for operation with a normal shooting grip, helping the shooter activate the device without changing hand position.

In addition to lasers and lights, Crimson Trace also produces riflescopes and rangefinders, extending its focus from close-range aiming aids into broader shooting optics. The company operates a facility in Columbia, Missouri, United States, and its product range reflects a practical emphasis on firearm-specific accessories designed for real use rather than display features alone.
