Celestron AstroMaster 130 EQ Product description

  1. Powerful Light Gathering: Featuring a substantial 130mm (5.1-inch) aperture, this Newtonian reflector telescope excels at gathering light, providing bright and clear views of celestial objects. Its large mirror makes it particularly effective for observing fainter deep-sky wonders like nebulae and galaxies, expanding the reach of amateur astronomers beyond just the Moon and planets.

  2. Stable Equatorial Mount: Equipped with a robust German Equatorial (EQ) mount, the AstroMaster 130 EQ allows for precise tracking of celestial objects as they move across the night sky. The slow-motion controls on both axes enable fine adjustments, keeping your target perfectly centered in the eyepiece for extended viewing sessions, an essential feature for both visual observation and introductory astrophotography.

  3. Sharp Optics and Versatility: The telescope utilizes an all-glass optical system with a parabolic primary mirror, which significantly reduces spherical aberration and delivers sharper, more detailed images compared to telescopes with spherical mirrors. This, combined with its versatile f/5 focal ratio, makes it suitable for both wide-field views of star clusters and more magnified observations of planetary details.

  4. Quick and Easy Setup: Designed with user-friendliness in mind, the AstroMaster 130 EQ features a tool-free setup process, allowing you to assemble the telescope and begin observing in minutes. Its relatively compact and portable design, alongside a sturdy adjustable stainless steel tripod, ensures stability during observations and makes it easy to transport to your favorite dark-sky location.

ABOUT THE CELESTRON ASTROMASTER 130 EQ

The Celestron AstroMaster 130 EQ is a superb entry-level telescope, distinguished by its Newtonian reflector optical design and generous 130mm aperture, allowing for exceptional light gathering. This makes it particularly unique in its price range for observing fainter deep-sky objects like galaxies and nebulae, a common limitation for smaller telescopes. Its sturdy German Equatorial mount offers precise manual tracking of celestial objects, making it an ideal choice for aspiring astronomers to learn fundamental astronomical principles alongside practical observation. Unlike many beginner telescopes, the AstroMaster 130 EQ's parabolic primary mirror significantly reduces spherical aberration, ensuring sharper, more detailed views of the Moon, planets, and countless clusters. Constructed with durable optical glass and lightweight aluminum, it balances portability with stability for regular backyard astronomy. This telescope is specifically designed to provide an engaging and educational experience for curious beginners and hobbyists seeking to explore the night sky with clarity and ease.

Hello, I was wondering if the view of the telescope: https://www.optics-trade.eu/si/celestron-astromaster-130-eq.html is obstructed, is the view through correct and would the telescope also be suitable for landscape observation? lp

by loppyy

Hello,

Thank you for your message.

The image of the telescope is inverted and can be used for landscape observation, but special accessories are needed for this purpose, and if you are interested in them, please contact us at our e-mail [email protected] and we will let you know. For nature observation only, however, spectives are preferable.

Thank you for your understanding.

We are at your disposal at any time if you have any further questions.

Greetings,

Pozdravljeni,

Lep Pozdrav,
