Canon 10x30 IS II Product description

  • Image Stabilizer: Canon’s stabilized design reduces visible hand shake, making a 10x binocular easier to hold steady for birding, travel, sports and long observation sessions without needing a tripod.
  • 10x30 optical format: The combination of 10x magnification and a 30.00 mm objective gives useful reach while keeping the binocular compact enough for everyday carry.
  • Porro prism optics: A Porro prism system helps deliver a spacious, natural view with strong depth perception, which is especially helpful when tracking moving subjects.
  • Fully multicoated lenses: The Fully Multicoated optical system improves light transmission and contrast, helping the image stay clearer in mixed light and over long viewing periods.
  • Waterproof, fogproof construction: With nitrogen filling plus waterproof and fogproof sealing, the binocular is better suited to changing weather and temperature shifts in the field.

About the Canon Stabilized Binoculars Series

Canon Stabilized Binoculars are built around the company’s long-running use of Vari-Angle Prism image stabilization, a system developed to reduce the small hand movements that become more obvious as magnification rises. Canon returned to the binocular market in 1995 with the 12 x 36 IS, and this stabilized line has remained a distinct part of its optics range since then. The series is aimed at users who want the reach of higher magnification without immediately moving to a tripod-supported setup.

Across the range, Canon positions these binoculars for birdwatching, wildlife viewing, concerts, sports, travel and astronomy. The lineup includes compact models, medium-range designs and higher-magnification versions, with some variants offering all-weather or waterproof construction. What unites the family is a practical design philosophy: make fine detail easier to see by keeping the image steadier in the hand. That gives the series a different character from conventional binoculars of similar power, especially for users who spend long periods glassing or who often observe from moving platforms, uneven ground or crowded venues.

About the Canon 10x30 IS II

The Canon 10x30 IS II is a stabilized binocular designed for users who want more detail than a compact 8x model can provide, but still need a format that is easy to carry and quick to deploy. Its 10.00 x magnification gives enough reach for wildlife, field sports, sightseeing and stage events, while the 30.00 mm objective size keeps the body more manageable than larger full-size binoculars. In practice, that balance makes it well suited to general outdoor use where portability matters as much as image scale.

The key advantage of this model is its image stabilizer. At 10x, even small hand movements can soften detail and make long viewing sessions tiring. Stabilization helps keep the image calmer, so fine features are easier to pick out and the binocular remains more comfortable to use over time. The Porro prism layout contributes to a broad, natural-looking image, and the 105.00 m/1000m field of view gives enough width for following moving subjects. Fully Multicoated lenses support contrast and brightness, while the 3.00 mm exit pupil suits daytime and mixed-light observation.

Handling is set up for practical field use. The binocular uses central focusing for quick adjustment, with diopter correction on the left eye-piece to fine-tune the view to the user’s eyesight. A 14.50 mm eye relief offers workable viewing comfort, and the waterproof, fogproof, nitrogen-filled housing is better prepared for damp weather and temperature changes than an unstabilized indoor-use design. At 600.00 g, it remains portable enough for travel and day outings while offering a steadier image than a conventional binocular of similar power.

About Canon

Canon Inc. was founded on August 10, 1937, in Japan, growing from the earlier Precision Optical Instruments Laboratory established in Roppongi, Tokyo, in 1933. The company later became Canon Camera Co., Inc. in 1947 and adopted the name Canon Inc. in 1969. Today it is headquartered in Ota-ku, Tokyo, Japan.

Canon’s optical expertise spans cameras, interchangeable lenses, binoculars and broadcast television lenses, giving the company a strong foundation in precision optics and image control technologies. In the binocular category, Canon is especially known for its use of optical Image Stabilizer technology, including Vari-Angle Prism stabilization. That focus on stabilization is what sets Canon apart in this segment, particularly for users who want a steadier handheld view without moving to a tripod-based setup.

Hi, I would like to know if I can use the Canon 10xx30 IS II without glasses in the whole focal range! I noticed that in some models I can't see after 40 meters. I have SPH (Sphere) around 7. This means that I cannot see far.
