Athlon Helos BTR GEN2 1-10x28 SFP

• 1-10x LPVO range: The wide magnification span lets the scope work like a fast close-range optic at 1x, then adds enough top-end magnification for more deliberate shots and target identification at longer practical distances.
• ATMR4 SFP IR MOA reticle: The second focal plane layout keeps the reticle visually consistent through the zoom range, while red illumination helps the aiming point stand out quickly against dark targets and busy backgrounds.
• 34 mm one-piece tube: A larger tube gives this riflescope generous internal adjustment and a robust mounting platform, which is useful on modern sporting rifles and general-purpose tactical setups.
• Capped turrets: Protected adjustment caps reduce the chance of accidental dial movement during transport, field carry, or hard use, making the scope well suited to rifles that are expected to stay zeroed.
• Advanced fully multi-coated optics: The lens coatings are designed to improve light transmission, contrast, and color fidelity, helping the image stay clear and usable across changing light conditions.

About the Athlon Helos BTR Series

Athlon Helos BTR began as a riflescope family introduced in 2018, positioned for shooters who wanted tactical-style features without moving into Athlon’s highest-tier lines. The series was built around practical long-range and precision-oriented design, with the original models centered on first focal plane layouts, illuminated reticles, and a choice of MOA or MIL configurations. Those early Helos BTR scopes also shared exposed locking turrets, fully multi-coated optics, and a one-piece 6061-T6 aluminum tube construction.

Helos BTR Gen2 developed into a distinct line with its own model mix and reticle options, broadening the series beyond the original high-magnification format. In that sense, the family now covers more than one style of use: some models remain focused on deliberate distance work, while others move toward faster, more versatile tactical and sporting applications. Across the range, the Helos BTR name is associated with practical reticle design, durable construction, and optical features intended to support field use rather than bench-only shooting. That makes the series relevant to shooters who want a capable tactical riflescope with modern features, but in a format chosen around the job at hand.

About the Athlon Helos BTR GEN2 1-10x28 SFP

The Athlon Helos BTR GEN2 1-10x28 SFP is a low-power variable optic built for rifles that need to cover close, fast shooting and more deliberate mid-range work with the same sighting system. Its 1-10x magnification range gives it the flexibility expected from a modern LPVO: at the low end it supports rapid target acquisition and situational awareness, while the upper end provides enough image scale for more precise holds and better target definition at distance. With a 28 mm objective lens and a broad 110-10 ft field of view at 100 yds, it balances speed and reach in a compact format.

The scope uses the ATMR4 SFP IR MOA reticle in the second focal plane, so the reticle keeps the same apparent size as magnification changes. In practice, that gives the shooter a familiar sight picture at every power setting and a reticle that remains easy to see at low magnification. Red illumination improves visibility when the target or background reduces contrast, and the etched-glass reticle remains available even when illumination is off. The capped turrets favor a set-and-hold approach, protecting adjustments from accidental movement during transport or field handling, while the 0.5 MOA click value keeps zeroing straightforward.

Mechanically, the scope is built around a 34 mm tube with one-piece construction, an aircraft-grade aluminum body, argon purging, and waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof protection. The fast-focus eyepiece helps the reticle come into sharp focus quickly, and the fixed parallax setting at 100 yards keeps operation simple for a general-purpose tactical riflescope.

About Athlon

Athlon Optics was founded in 2014 and describes itself as a U.S. sports optics company. The brand focuses on optics for hunting, shooting, and outdoor use, with a product range that includes riflescopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, rangefinders, red-dot sights, and thermal optics. Within its lineup, series such as Cronus and Midas show the breadth of its riflescope and binocular offerings.

Athlon’s product development emphasizes practical optical and mechanical features relevant to field use. Across the brand, that includes technologies such as UHD glass in selected models to reduce chromatic fringe, ESP dielectric coating for high light reflectivity in prism systems, XPL exterior lens coating for added lens-surface protection, and a precision zero-stop system on applicable riflescopes. This combination of broad category coverage and feature-focused design has made Athlon a recognized name among shooters and outdoor users looking for modern sports optics.
