As the name suggests, it a high performance scope with loads of great features, especially at this size, weight and, of course, rather low price. It’s a scope made for hunters, to be used while stalking and bush hunting, but the 8x magnification will easily cope when the terrain opens up and the pray is at a distance. It manages to deliver at both very short and up to medium ranges, that is both with the simple V-plex reticle or the more elaborate D-H BDC, which will definitely offer the shooter some confidence when there is a target that needs to be hit with the first shot.
Just like the Diamondback series, the HP (High Performance) scopes are machined out of a single piece, aircraft aluminum that will withstand the kick of any caliber, and is made for long lasting durability. It’s hard anodized for protection against the elements. The anodizing is made in matte finish to prevent light reflection for better concealment of the shooter. The lenses are coated with ArmorTek coating, to prevent scratches, fingerprints and stains and the coating will repel water and grease drops as well. It has a XR layer as well, to prevent reflection and deliver excellent image. The high quality, are made of XD glass for low light dispersion and increased color, resolution and sharpens. The whole scope is sealed and watertight, and the Argon purging of the interior will prevent any fogging on the internal lenses.
The Diamondback HP series of scopes does not come with reticle illumination. They are made for hunting and shooting at daylight and the reticle options are chosen with that in mind. It also comes with low light dispersion lenses to ensure enough light gets trough to allow for comfort. The fine cross-hairs will enable shooting even at large magnification, but the scope is not made for dim light shooting.
This turrets come with caps for extra protection while on the move. They are easily re-indexed and resettable. The parallax can be adjusted with the side turret, from 18 meters to infinity.
The scope comes in two reticle variants, wither the crude yet simple and fine V-Plex cross-hairs or the plain Dead-hold BDC that comes with a nice BDC system. In either case, the turrets have ¼ MOA adjustment graduation, a 15 MOA travel per turn and have an impressive 110 MOA travel with both windage and elevation.
