Tactical turrets with a locking mechanism are the most advanced rifle scope turrets on the market. Such turrets offer the best features of tactical and capped turrets combined. They offer quick and easy adjustments and protection against unintentional change of turret setting. This type of turrets is usually the most reliable and robust among all turret types.
Zero Stop is a normal feature on such turrets, and this means, once the rifle is zeroed and the turret 0 is set, no additional rotation under zero is possible. This is useful when returning elevation back to zeroed distance, since the turret automatically stops at zero setting.
Rotation of such turrets is normally possible in Single Turn – ST or Double Turn fashion and indicator of the turn always offers clear information in which turn the turret is located. This way, it is always clear how much elevation was dialed from zero. The majority of turrets of this type have a turn indicator, which can be used also in total darkness with touch, not only by seeing it.
The locking mechanism secures the turret setting and makes sure that unintentional change of this position is not possible. This is especially useful during transportation of the rifle or when using it out in the field.
