    Vortex Diamondback Tactical Riflescopes

Vortex Diamondback Tactical rifle scopes description

Vortex Diamondback Tactical are designed for hunting and sports shooting. They got the name from the hunting series Diamondback, which is known for reliability, good glass, and performance for a reasonable price. All features are equal to the hunting series, except the tactical turrets. These turrets are exposed, so the user can quickly adjust the elevation or windage.

The lenses are fully multi-coated for a bright image with good resolution, and the entire housing is made out of a one-piece aircraft-grade aluminum. The housing is also hard anodized, which makes the scopes more scratch resistant.

The smaller magnification rifle scopes (3-9x40 and 4-12x40) have a 1-inch main tube diameter, for which many mounting solutions are available for any kind of weapon platform. These rifle scopes have exposed tactical turrets, which are higher but narrower than the turrets on bigger magnification Diamondback Tactical rifle scopes.  The parallax is fixed at 100 yards (91 meters). The reticle is placed in the second focal plane, so it has the same dimensions on all magnifications and is non-illuminated. For these models, only 1 reticle is available, the VMR-1. The turrets are in MOA, and one click moves the reticle for 1/4 MOA.

The higher magnification rifle scopes from this series (4-16x44 FFP and 6-24x50 FFP) have a thicker main tube diameter, which is 30-millimeters. Also for this diameter, many mounting solutions are available from many manufacturers, for any weapon platform. The turrets are lower but wider than the turrets on smaller magnification rifle scopes from this series. These rifle scopes feature also a side parallax turret for focusing on different distances, and these 2 bigger magnification rifle scopes have the reticle set in the first focal plane, so it changes the dimensions simultaneously when changing the magnification. With this feature, the user can calculate the distance to the target, read bullet impact corrections or make the shots at different distances without making the clicks. The reticle in the Vortex Diamondback Tactical 4-16x44 FFP and 6-24x50 FFP is EBR-2C, which is in use also in the most expensive Vortex rifle scopes like the Razor HD Gen. 2 and Razor HD AMG. You can also choose between an MOA or MRAD version of the rifle scope, and the reticle will be always matched with the turrets. The reticle in both models is non-illuminated.

All rifle scopes from this series have the whole housing filled with nitrogen to prevent internal fogging in cold days. All Vortex Diamondback Tactical rifle scopes are covered with the Vortex VIP Unconditional Lifetime Warranty.
