Leupold VX-5 HD rifle scopes are related to the Leupold VX-6 HD rifle scopes, the difference is, that these rifle scopes come with 5 times zoom factor and not 6, like the VX-6 HD rifle scopes. Inside these rifle scopes are high-definition calcium-fluoride lenses, and with the Twilight Max Light Management System you get a very good clarity, light transmission, and contrast at all magnifications.

All rifle scopes from this series are made in a durable 30 mm main tube, that is machined from a single piece aluminum. This tube is argon filled for a fog-free use at low temperatures, it is fully waterproof and shockproof for even the strongest recoiling calibers.

All rifle scopes can be ordered with the clever designed CDS turrets for a quick elevation or windage adjustment. These turrets are locked at zero, but by pressing only one button, you can already adjust the turrets. These turrets have a 1/4 MOA click value, but also a BDC (Ballistic Drop Compensation) ring can be ordered, with your specific bullet trajectory.

The bigger two models, VX-5 HD feature a side parallax adjustment turret for focusing on different distances, and the smaller magnification models have fixed parallax at 100 yards (91 meters). Also a new feature is an electronic cant indicator, which helps you to hold your rifle at the right angle. The reticle illumination will blink so long till you level the rifle, so you have no error when shooting long range. The reticle is set in the second focal plane (reticle size doesn't change with magnification), so it won't cover a lot at bigger magnifications. Integrated is also a motion sensor, which detects movement, and if the weapon is stable for 5 minutes, it turns the illumination off to save battery life. After moving, it immediately turns the illumination back on.
