    Leupold Mark 8 Rifle Scopes

Leupold Mark 8 rifle scopes description

Leupold produces rifle scopes already since 1942, for military and civilian use. The new Mark 8 series represents the top of the line rifle scope series from Leupold, for military personnel and professional marksmen.

The Leupold Mark 8 series features an impressive zoom ratio, so these rifle scopes can be used in any situation, should this be for close quarter battle or even long-range shooting. Currently, there are only two models in this series, the long range specialist Leupold Mark 8 3.5-25x56 and the smaller, wide-angle model, meant for CQB (Close Quater Battle) the Leupold Mark 8 1.1-8x24 CQBSS. Both rifle scopes have the reticle set in the first focal plane (reticle size changes with zoom).

Both rifle scopes are made from a durable, full metal housing, and the main tube diameter is 35 mm (3.5-25x56 model) or 34 mm (1.1-8x24 model), for extra strength and reliability. The lenses are fully multi-coated with the Leupold DiamondCoat 2™ coating for better contrast and resolution, and they feature also an additional Xtended Twilight lens coating for more light transmission.

Both rifle scopes can be ordered with many reticle options, and in the smaller model, Mark 8 1.1-8x24, all are illuminated. The bigger model, Mark 8 3.5-25x56 can be ordered also as a non-illuminated version, and this version comes also with different turrets. The big model, Mark 8 3.5-25x56 features an adjustable parallax turret, and the smaller model, Mark 8 1.1-8 has fixed parallax at 150 yards (137 meters).

All turrets on these rifle scopes are double turn and have a patented Auto-locking, pinch & turn mechanism. These turrets are really well designed because they are always locked, so no accidental movement can occur. You simply press a button when turning and the turret gets unlocked. Both, elevation and windage turrets have this mechanism. The click value on these rifle scopes is 1/10 of a MIL, so 1 cm on 100 meters, but the elevation turret can be also equipped with a BDC (Bullet Drop Compensation) ring, that can be engraved to your ballistic curve.

All rifle scopes from this series are tested to withstand the harshest abuse, should this be in hot or even in very cold environment. All Leupold Mark 8 rifle scopes are totally waterproof, shockproof for even the strongest magnum calibers like the .50 BMG, and are nitrogen purged for a fogproof use at low temperatures. All rifle scopes from this series feature also a lockable Fast-focus eyepiece, what is really rare by rifle scopes manufacturers, but a great feature.
