All riflescopes in the series have the reticle set in the first focal plane (FFP) and can be purchased with an illuminated or a non-illuminated reticle. There are several different reticles to choose from. Mark 8 riflescopes feature a lockable fast focus eyepiece for a better reticle focus.

Leupold Mark 8 3.5-25x56mm M5B2 is a riflescope at the tip of the spear. It is designed for long-range tactical shooting and offers 8:1 zoom range with 3.5x minimal and 24x maximal magnification. The 8x magnification range offers an excellent field of view at lower magnifications.
This is a large scope with a 35mm main tube diameter and a one-piece housing. It is made of an aircraft grade aluminum alloy with a black matte finish. The scope is filled with argon, waterproof and fog proof.
The scope is of the first focal plane type, meaning that the reticle size changes with magnification. The user can choose among illuminated front focal plane reticles or non-illuminated reticles. If the reticle is illuminated, then there are several different intensity levels – depending on the model. There is also an off switch between each illumination level.

The exterior of the lens surfaces is treated with an ion-assist lens coating, DiamondCoat 2. The coating provides higher light transmission and a greater level of abrasion resistance. The blackened lens edges help reduce light diffusion.
This Leupold Mark 8 model features exposed double turn tactical turrets with a Zero-lock mechanism, so the user can quickly return to zero. There is an auto-locking pinch and turn adjustment on windage and elevation turrets. The parallax can be set anywhere between 50 m and infinity. The clicks on the riflescope are in milliradians (1 click = 0.1 MIL).
The 3.5-25x56 models come with durable flip-back lens covers. A microfiber cloth and sunshade are included.
