Top of the line scope from Docter Classic series was designed with one goal only. It was made for hunting in low light situations at dusk, at dawn or in the middle of the night when moonlight or sky full of stars is the only source of light. Compared to basic Docter Classic scope for low light the traditional 8x56 is gives the hunter all the benefits of a variable magnification. When magnification is set to 3x it ads ability to shot at very short distances (a common scenario when waiting for wild boards on a raised hide in forest) due to the wide field of view needed in such situations. When set to 12x this scope gives the hunter that additional details on target needed for accurate shot at long range. With big objective lens measuring 56mm in diameter and great light transmission rate shown on a graph bellow (fully-multicoated lenses with Docter Multitop coating) it is not hard to understand why this scope is so popular with European hunters. Reticle in Docter Classic 3-12x56 is located in the first focal plane – FFP and this means it is thicker at high magnification setting so that the hunter can see it also when there is not much light available. FFP design also guaranties that the POI (point of impact) will not move with magnification change. Other optical properties like resolution, edge sharpness, mechanical accuracy and build quality are also nothing short of exceptional for a scope of this price range.
Docter Classic 3-12x56 rifle scope can be mounted on a rifle with 30 mm mounting rings. Version of this scope is also available with LM rail - traditional prismatic rail for mounting - Docter Classic 3-12x56 (LM rail).
