Benelli Armi S.p.A. was formed in 1967 from a motorcycle business. Benelli brothers were passionate hunters as well as fine engineers – with the help of Bruno Civolani, they developed an extraordinary hunting shotgun that used a simple inertia driven mechanism in place of a conventional gas-operated system. Today, they are best known for producing shotguns for law enforcement, military and civilians. Benelli M3 12 gauge, used by American SWAT teams, is perhaps their most famous firearm.
Benelli M2 or Super 90 is a Tactical Semi- Automatic light Shotgun. Benelli M2 is an updated version of model M1. Cartridges which fit this weapon are 12 or 20 gauge shells. There are no holes drilled for the purpose of mounting solutions, so every Benelli M2 owner has to drill them individually with the help of a skilled gunsmith. This model is availiable with three different stocks, which are: Pistol Grip stock, Tactical and Comfortech stock. Additionally, you can choose between Ghost – ring or Open – rifle sights for this model. The main field of application for this firearm is civil usage, law enforcement and multi – gun competitions. Benelli M2 was introduced in two different versions. These are: M2 Field Shotgun and M2 Tactical Shotgun. M2 Field Shotgun is availiable only in 12 – gauge shells, overally it weights about 3 kg and measures approximatelly 100 cm in length. Barrel length is 47 cm. M2 Field Shotgun's barrel length and overall firearm length differs. Barrel's length measure from 54, 61, 66 and 71 cm. Overall length is 108, 116, 121 and 126 cm. Users can mount Picatinny or Contessa 12 mm base on Benelli M2.
