Made in Belarus, the Yukon Sideview series consists of a couple of inexpensive compact-sized binoculars in either 8x or 10x magnifications using very small 21mm lenses. This makes them suitable for daylight observation for uses like hiking, backpacking, taking to sporting events or for simply storing in your bag and taking anywhere and everywhere you go.
The “soft touch” rubber armor coating on the exterior surface helps protect the instrument as well as increase grip levels.
As with the larger models from Yukon Advanced Optics, both Sideview binoculars feature eyecups with a side shield on the side. These are designed to reduce and in many cases completely eliminate any distracting light coming in from the sides where your face meets the eyecups and thus not only helps you maintain complete focus on your subject, but it can also improve the view by preventing light reflecting off the ocular lens.
Another feature that the Yukon Sideview binoculars share with the larger models is their flip-up lens caps, although whilst they are still attached to the barrels via a couple of hinges, on these compacts, they are attached to the top and not the underside of them. This ensures that you can never lose or misplace them and they are always there to easily flip down and protect your lenses as soon as you have finished observing.
All Sideview binoculars have anti-reflective coatings which help them to deliver sharp, well balanced, high contrast views.
Whilst not as compact as Roof prism compacts, by using the Porro prism design, these Sideview binoculars from Yukon do not require expensive mirror coatings to achieve the same level of transmittance and thus are generally a good option at the budget end of the market.
As well as their main centrally located focus wheel, these compact binoculars also feature a diopter adjustment ring. Positioned near the right eyepiece it enables you to make small adjustments that ensure these Yukon Sideview binoculars are able to match your specific eyesight.
Included in the box with these Yukon Sideview binoculars, you also get a hand strap, protective carry case, a user manual, lens cleaning cloth, and warranty card.
As with all their instruments, Yukon Advanced Optics warrants these Sideview binoculars against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of three years from the moment of initial purchase or from the manufacturing date if there is no receipt to prove purchase. The included warranty card confirms that the binocular was supplied without defects and guarantees the repair of manufacturer defects during the warranty period.
