Nikon Marine CF WP Binoculars

Description of Nikon MARINE CF WP Binoculars

The Nikon Marine CF WP series of binoculars offers three models made in Japan suitable for mountaineering, fishing, sailing, boating and the skygazing (only the bigger model). Two-letter abbreviation CF stands for Central Focusing and WP for Waterproof construction. They are also fogproof and rubberized for additional protection. One of the binocular in the series with 7x50 configuration also integrates a compass and a scale that helps you to navigate when on the water.

Basic Features

Marine CF WP binoculars are well protected with rubberized housing. This black rubber armouring has a soft matt surface for better “sticky” non-slip grip. This gives binoculars a shock-proof ability that protects them against impacts and corrosion. The surface is also slightly rugged on the barrels where the end of your fingers are positioned when holding them, providing additional firm grip. Thanks to the tight seals, binoculars are impervious to water and dust therefore they are fully protected in severe weather environments, from rain to hurricane. They are also submersible to withstand the pressure up to 5 minutes in the water depth of 2. Construction is purged with Nitrogen gas to prevent internal condensation that occurs due to quick temperature fluctuations. The size of this Porro prism binoculars is quite small, making them comfortable to carry in your hands and around the neck. The 7x50 CF WP GLOBAL COMPASS model has integrated compass that can be used in both hemispheres – north and south. The compass is illuminated and provides a scale so you can easily measure different objects. This fantastic feature helps you to easily navigate in the wildlife, especially on the sea.

Optical Properties

Marine CF WP binoculars perform incredibly well optically. The Porro prism system makes them incredibly bright and 50mm objective lenses are wide enough to draw in enough light giving you sharp images even during the most challenging light conditions. The lenses are multi-coated to help with better light transmission rate and providing amazing resolution. Marine CF WP binoculars offer central focusing mechanism with extremely quick knob rotations. The wheel is very grippy even if the binoculars are wet and the surface is slippery. Focusing is also adjusted with right-eye diopter that helps you to eliminate vision imbalance between both eyes. The eyecups aren’t multi-positioned but still offer extremely long eye-relief suitable even for spectacle wearers.

Accessories

The MARINE CF WP binoculars come in a padded case for storage and protection and neckstrap for carrying. Two of the models with 7x50 configuration are also equipped with special neckstrap that makes binoculars floatable on the water. There are also included objective lens covers and rainguards for additional protection of the lenses.
