Leupold is an American manufacturer of optics with a long tradition – the company was founded in 1907. It is still family owned as it was in the beginning. They produce optics for many organizations, including the United States Army, Navy Seals, Marine Corps, etc. They have many popular products in the civilian market as well.

About the series

Mark 4 series comprise Leupold’s offer of tactical riflescopes with a 3x zoom factor. All are designed to withstand the recoil of the strongest calibers. They boast tactical, exposed turrets and are equipped with either a 30mm or a 34mm tube. For a long time, these were one of the main choices of the US military. At the beginning of 2017, Leupold stopped making these for the civilian market – since then, they have only been accessible to the military and law enforcement units.

About the model

This Leupold Mark 4 4.5-14x50 mm has a few letters-marks next to its name. LR stands for Long Range, T stands for Tactical, while ‘M1’ stands for the type of the turrets that Leupold uses on these. The objective lens measures 50 mm in diameter. The other two subseries are Mark 4 ER (Extended Range) and Mark 4 MR (Medium Range).

Leupold Mark 4 4.5-14x50mm LR T M1 is a typical long-range tactical rifle scope with high-profile, exposed turrets for windage and elevation adjustment. The parallax can be adjusted with side focus. There are two reticles available: Mil dot reticle and TMR reticle.

6061-T6 aircraft-grade Aluminium is used for the housing. Leupold combined this robust alloy with their specially designed Twin Bias Spring Erector System, which eliminates erector system backlash and ensures that the riflescope remains usable for longer. The finish is in matte black.
