Need to see more detail? If so, the Leica Geovid R 15x56mm is the binocular for you. With its impressive, 15x zoom and superior, top of the line optics, this is a detail gathering machine. Combine this with a state of the art laser rangefinder and you have a package which along with its unmatched value for money leaves little to be desired and is an excellent addition to any long range shooting package.
The laser rangefinder of the Leica Geovid R 15x56mm is a powerful and accurate unit, capable of accurate range measurements from 10 up to 1300m in either scan or single measurement mode. The laser is invisible and eye friendly, as not to irritate the user. Further development of the Geovid HD line to create the Geovid R line has also seen an addition of a ballistic calculator. This extremely accurate and simple to use system utilises a brand new EHR function, which displays the equivalent horizontal range for maximised precision when shooting on a slope. 12 different preloaded ballistic curves allow for the best match for a specific calibre or load. Information, such as range and the required bullet compensation in either cm of drop, clicks required or, if using a Leica riflescope with the ASV turret, the position of the turret, is displayed on an internal LED display with automatic brightness adjustment for an optimal display in any light conditions.
Optically, the Leica Geovid R 15x56mm delivers unparalleled performance thanks to innovative concepts, such as High Definition fluorite glass and special, HDC multicoating system. These features provide a clear image with edge-to-edge sharpness, high contrast and natural, vivid colours free of fringing while the HDC coatings also help prevent scratches. Pair this with the 15x magnification level and the level of detail becomes simply stunning, while a generous field of view allows for easy scanning of broad terrain. One of the traits of these binoculars is also its high light transmission rate. Together with the massive, 56mm front objective lenses, these binoculars become a joy to use even in fading light. The toughness of the Leica Geovid HD line is almost legendary and the Leica Geovid R 15x56mm is no exception. A die-cast aluminium chassis, completed with rubber armouring help prevent damage and keep the binoculars shockproof, while a complete seal prevents water from entering, making these binoculars fully submersible under water down to 5m deep.
Filled with nitrogen to prevent fogging and, boasting superior quality internals of the central focusing mechanism, these binoculars will not fail even in downright freezing temperatures, as low as -25°C. Leica has also taken care of extreme weather conditions. By applying special water and particle repelling AquaDura coatings to the outer lens surfaces the image remains clear even when it is raining or snowing. The classic shape of the Leica Geovid R 15x56mm and excellent, even weight distribution make it very comfortable to hold, even for longer periods and adjustable eye cups allow further customisation, particularly for users, who wear glasses. The Leica Geovid R 15x56mm also comes with Leica’s 5 year, unconditional warranty.
