Leica Geovid 10x42 R Details

Description of Leica Geovid R 10x42mm binoculars

The Leica Geovid R 10x42mm is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a high end binoculars for hunting in the highlands or mountains. A member of Leica’s new and improved generation of Geovid R binoculars, the Geovid R 10x42mm now, along with superior optics and a laser rangefinder, also includes an inclinometer and a ballistic calculator for extreme accuracy when considering long range shots.

The eye friendly, accurate and quick laser rangefinder provides accurate and dependable measurements form 10 to 1300m and can be used in either single measurement mode for stationary or scan mode for moving targets. The newly added EHR system displays the equivalent horizontal range while 12 different ballistic curves for different calibres and loads ensure ease of use and require no previous knowledge of ballistics. The internal LED display with automatics brightness adjustment displays the bullet drop or compensation in either centimetres of drop, clicks required (MOA or mrad) or, if using a Leica riflescope, the position of the ASV ballistic turret. The optical performance of the Leica Geovid R 10x42mm is not very short of legendary.

Innovative concepts, such as High Definition (HD) fluorite glass, coupled with Leica’s HDC multicoatings give a clear, high contrast image, edge-to-edge clarity and true to life, vivid colours and also help prevent reflection and scratches. The 10x magnification is plentiful to allow even the tiniest of details to be observed, while the ample 42mm front objective lenses, with help from the superior light transmission rate, display a bright image even in fading light. The forgiving eye box and wide field of view make the Leica Geovid R 10x42mm easy to use and easy to scan the environment with. Ergonomics are taken care of thanks to a die-cast and rubberised aluminium frame, which gives a classic shape and perfect weight distribution. Adjustable eye cups allow for further customisation, especially for users, who wear glasses.

The aluminium frame is also very tough, making the Leica Geovid R 10x42mm shockproof, while a complete seal prevents water entry and allows these binoculars to be fully submersible in water up to 5m deep. Superior quality of the internal central focusing mechanism provides smooth operation even in freezing temperatures, as low as -25°C and nitrogen purging prevents fogging. Further, the Leica Geovid R 10x42mm comes with Leica’s special AquaDura coatings, applied to the external lens surfaces. These coatings disperse water and other particles, such as dirt, and ensure a crisp, clear image even in bad weather. Leica provides a 5 year, unconditional warranty for all their Geovid R models and the 10x42mm model in no exception.
