Kahles is the oldest riflescope manufacturer still in operation – the company was founded in 1898 in Austria. They were one of the first to produce riflescopes with variable power, a feat that revolutionized the riflescope industry. Throughout the years, they have focused on riflescope manufacturing – with time, they expanded their offer with binoculars, LRF-binoculars, and red dot sights. Swarovski bought Kahles in 1974 – since then, Kahles Limited GesmbH has been an independent company within the Swarovski group. Kahles and Swarovski nicely complement each other, Swarovski focusing on the hunting and Kahles on the tactical sphere.
Kahles K is a series of riflescopes split into two categories – tactical shooting and sport shooting (competition, field target). All these riflescopes belong to the premium class, featuring high-quality optics, robust mechanics and lots of advanced features. These can be mounted on any calibre as they handle even the strongest recoil with no consequences. They are available in many different magnification configurations. Many models in this series have a high maximum magnification power, which makes them an excellent choice for long range shooting.
Kahles K16i 1–6x24 is a wide-angle rifle scope from the K series. It boasts a 6x zoom factor and a 24mm objective lens. It can be used for CQB and many hunting situations, where having a wide field of view and both eyes on the target is important. It is a great companion for a driven hunt – at 1x magnification, it can be used as a substitute for red dots. Many Pro-series 3-gun competitors choose this riflescope because of its excellent performance.
These riflescopes feature a large field of view, a generous eye box, clearest image edge to edge, and a daytime-compatible illumination. Kahles used AMV coatings which prevent the loss of light transmission in the critical spectral range of light (around 520 nm).
The reticle is in the second focal plane, meaning that it appears to be of the same size throughout the magnification span. There are four reticles available – 3GR, G4B, SI1, and SM1 reticle.
The riflescope is constructed of hardened steel and machined to absolute perfection. It is a synonym for durability, accuracy, and repeatability. An integrated magnification throw lever makes setting the desired magnification an easy task, even in the toughest weather conditions.
