Celestron Nature DX 12x56 Details

These high power binoculars get you closer to the action and so provide you with greater image detail at longer distances. However compared to lower magnification binoculars, they do have a reduced field of view and therefore will benefit users like nature enthusiasts or hunters operating in wide-open locations like grasslands, the mountains or perhaps by the coast.
It is also important to keep in mind that whilst the image brightness and the low light capabilities of this model are enhanced by the large 56mm objective lenses and anti-reflection coatings, the high magnification also produces a smaller exit pupil, which makes them less suitable for low light situations than binoculars like the 8x56 or 10x56 models in the Nature DX series.
Whilst most users with reasonably steady hands can hand hold these 12x56 binoculars, to get the best possible views with a completely steady and shake-free view, it is good to know that the Nature DX binoculars are tripod adaptable. For uses like astronomy, fixing your binocular to a tripod is especially important in order to get the best views of distant objects in our night skies as well as to make them easily shareable with others.
The 16mm of eye-relief should be adequate for most users, however, if you wear glasses, you may require a little more to ensure you get the full image without black rings on the edges. If this is a concern, perhaps consider the 10x56 or 8x56 models instead.

About Celestron Nature DX Binoculars

Nature DX are entry-level binoculars made by Celestron. Offering pocket, compact, all-round and low-light binoculars, these inexpensive ones are perfect for nature and wildlife observations, and are also suitable for viewing the concerts and sporting events. All models in the Nature DX series are fully multi-coated giving you high-quality optical performance with the help of BaK-4 glass, well protected due to waterproof and fog-proof construction, have straight-through design for comfortable handling and multi-positioned eyecups, suitable even for eyeglass wearers.

Basic Features

Smaller models have a straight-through design so you can hold them in your hands much more comfortably with solid wrap-around grip. These roof prism binoculars are made out of polycarbonate housing materials which makes them lightweight and free of any fatiguing when handling and carrying them around the neck for longer periods of time, making them suitable even for children. The compact design definitely makes them a real pleasure to use when on adventure. Nature DX binoculars are also fully protected, so you can take them with you even when the weather is bad. Tight seals make them impervious to water and dust and the construction in also filled with nitrogen gas, to prevent internal condensation when temperature changes occur. All models in the series are also tripod adaptable, very convenient part of equipment, especially for models with higher magnifications.

Optical Properties

They offer generous field of view which allows you to quickly track down the animals that are fast moving and also helps you to hold the aim on them for longer time. The close focusing distance isn’t bad either and allows you to see finest details even up close, thus providing amazing micro observations of insects or butterflies. For focusing, the Nature DX binocular offer grippy central focusing knob for smooth and quick adjustment, with the help of the right-eye diopter that is also incredibly grippy and helps to eliminate differences between both eyes. Nature DX binoculars are also equipped with a twist-up eyecups, offering generous eye-relief without vignetting, that can be completely twisted down for perfect adjustment for eyeglasses wearers.

Accessories

Nature DX binoculars come with a case for storage that keeps them safe against impacts. They are also equipped with neck strap for carrying binoculars around the neck, objective lens and eyecup lens covers.
