With both compact and full-size models to choose from, the Wildlife XP series from German brand Steiner is ideal for the discerning or even professional nature lover looking for a high-performance instrument that won’t let them down even in the harshest of conditions.
The larger sized 44 mm models offer a great balance between size versus light gathering ability and will suit those looking for a superior view even in low light situations, while the collection of compact models are ideal take anywhere, travel-friendly instruments perfect for any wildlife or safari adventure.
The full-sized versions use a super tough, but also extremely lightweight die-cast magnesium alloy housing, whilst the compact models utilize Steiner’s polycarbonate Makrolon housing. Both sizes are extremely rugged and are designed to perform in extreme conditions (-20°C to +70°C for the compacts and -40°C to + 80°C for full-sized models).
All Steiner Wildlife XP Binoculars are completely waterproof and have a nitrogen pressure filling via a two-way-valve-system to prevent against fogging up or condensation forming on the inside the instrument.
The compact models use the ingenious, space-saving double hinge body design which allows the binocular to fold down into an extremely compact shape when not in use and thus makes them even easier to carry and take wherever you go than the standard compact design. The larger Steiner Wildlife XP binoculars have a modern open bridge body shape that not only further reduces weight, but also makes for a more secure and comfortable shape to hold onto.
Another somewhat unique feature is the design of the eyecups: Made out of a skin-friendly, non-aging silicon, they are very soft and comfortable to start with, but what is more, like most other Steiner binoculars they also have a side shield that is designed to eliminate distractions and light from the periphery of your view. Thus not only adds to the immersive experience when looking through your optics, but it also ensures less unwanted reflections and thus improves the view.
All models within the Steiner Wildlife XP range use Schmidt/Pechan roof prisms that allow for a more compact shape of binocular.
The larger models use Steiner’s Ultra-HD-Optics system that contains high-end fluoride glass for improved colour accuracy, contrast, and image resolution right to the edge of the view. Compacts have Steiner's standard high definition optics that are still able to produce sharp images with high contrast and excellent color definition but at a more budget-friendly price.
As well as the anti-reflection coatings on all optical surfaces, the 44 mm Steiner Wildlife XP binoculars have special hydrophobic Nano-Protection coatings added to the outer lenses. This makes water simply roll off them and dirt, dust, snow are also repelled for a clearer view and easier cleaning.
Another somewhat unique feature on the larger models is what Steiner calls their Precision-Setting. Most binoculars with a central focus wheel have a single diopter adjuster. However, with the Wildlife XP, they are two: one for each eyepiece and thus you get a far wider adjustment range to ensure that you are able to get the binocular to compliment your particular vision for the sharpest possible views.
All Steiner Wildlife XP Binoculars are bundled with a high-end carry bag, lens cleaning cloth and comfortable Neoprene neck strap that attaches to the instrument via their excellent ClicLoc attachment system making it easier and faster than ever add or remove.
The larger models also have a rain-guard for the ocular lenses and protective dust caps for the objective lenses. These are made from NBR long-life rubber and can also be tethered to the binocular with their quick release ClicLoc system.

So should your instrument defective for any reason other than deliberate misuse, they pledge to service it at no charge and no questions asked.
