Vixen SAQRAS 6x16 DCF Details

The Vixen Saqras takes the ultra-compact and mostly functional design of the very similar Vixen Meglass 6x16 DCF binoculars and adds a layer of elegance. This will appeal to the those wanting a more classy and sophisticated binocular to take to the opera, theatre, a tennis match or the horse races.

These elegant binoculars feature compact BK-7 roof prisms, small 16mm objective lenses and a double hinge body design which enables them to fold up into a tiny shape that will easily fit into your bag or jacket pocket when not in use.

As indoor concert or theatre binoculars, the 6x magnification is relatively high, which will be an advantage at larger venues or those with less than ideal seating positions. Whilst for outdoor uses like sporting events the 6x power is ideal in that it helps you keep a steady image and produces an ultra-wide field of view. With such a wide view, you are able to take in and thus follow more of the action without having to pan the view about.

Note: The small lenses help to keep the size and to a lesser extent the weight of the binoculars to a minimum, however the drawback to this that they are not able to take in as much light as larger ones. In normal daylight conditions and when observing bright lights (like at a concert or the theatre), this is not an issue, but should you need a binocular for use in low light situations, these will not be the ideal solution.

At a distance of 3.2 meters, the closest focusing distance is fairly long for a pocket binocular. Most users will not have a problem with this, but if you are especially wanting to use your binoculars for things like observing butterflies at a very close range, these will probably not be the best choice.

With 14mm of eye relief, there is a reasonably good amount of space to maneuver in order to get your eyes the perfect distance behind the ocular lenses to observe the full image. However, eyeglass wearers may not find this to be sufficient. If this is a concern, an alternative is the Vixen Atrek HR 8x25 DCF binoculars that have an excellent 18mm.
