Hawke Sapphire ED 8x25 Details

This top-of-the-range, premium grade compact binocular marries the space-saving twin-hinge roof prism design with a superior level of optical components to produce a binocular that will not only fit into your pocket when not in use, but then also capable of producing an image that most full-sized binoculars would be proud of.

These and many other features makes the Hawke Sapphire ED 8x25 binocular the ideal carry anywhere instrument that is ideally suited to uses like traveling, hiking and outdoor concerts or sporting events.
Both water and fogproof, these binoculars also feature a leatherette exterior that adds a level of class and sophistication, whilst the magnesium chassis is both lightweight and robust.
As with the with the full-sized versions, the optics incorporate fully multi-coated optics with Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass lenses designed to reduce colour fringing. The BaK-4 Roof Prisms have phase-correction coatings and silver mirror coatings for exceptional levels of light transmission, as well as class-leading image clarity, resolution, and contrast.
Like any compact binocular, the 8x25 Sapphire ED is not designed for use in very low light conditions, however, the high-grade optics, coatings, and moderate 8x magnification means that these will perform better than much of their direct competition, greatly adding to their optimal operating window and thus their versatility.
The wide view is great for finding and then following wildlife and birds at closer ranges. It is also important at sports events and concerts as it enables you to view more action without having to move the view about.
Close focus distance (1.6m) is excellent and thus are also a good choice should you want a binocular to observe butterflies, or indeed to pop in your bag and take to a museum.

About Hawke Sapphire ED Binoculars

Award winning Hawke Sapphire ED binoculars offer great optical performance using the best technology and great build materials that makes them incredibly durable. You can choose between pocket and all-round models for everyday use. They integrate ED glass, are fully multi-coated and hydrophobic coating included in objective lenses. Sapphire ED binoculars can also pride themselves in wider field of view and long eye relief. Made out of magnesium housing and enclosed in beautifully designed rubber armouring makes them a real pleasure to use. They come in black and green color. The comfortability is also integrated in models with 43 mm lens diameter with an open-bridge design offering a firm wrap-around grip. They are well protected against water and internal fogging and therefore able to offer the maximum resilience in extreme weather conditions.

Basic Features

Great ergonomics integrated in Hawke Sapphire is shown in a lightweight and compact roof prism design that offers straight through design for comfortable handling. The models offer top-hinge design with 43 mm models and open-bridge design with 43 mm models for additional reduction of the weight and available surface to hold them firmly. Sapphire ED binoculars use magnesium alloy which is extremely lightweight for everyday use, but still durable to withstand the test of time. Underside of the barrels lie thumb depressors that help you with correct position of your hands, giving you a great balance. The rubber armouring also protect the whole body of these binoculars against impacts. Sapphire ED models are tightly sealed to make them resilient in even the most extreme weather conditions. Together with nitrogen gas filling to prevent internal fogginess, this significantly prevents corrosion and molding in a long run.

Optical Properties

Sapphire ED offers incredible optical performance at a reasonable price for everyday use of birdwatchers and other wildlife observations and will satisfy even hunters and other more professional users. All the models offer amazing wide field of view that can easily help you in dynamic situations when you have to track down fast moving subjects such as big birds. They are fully multi-coated, with phase correction, dielectric prism coatings and extra-low dispersion glass that helps to eliminate unwanted chromatic aberration and glaring. This technology also helps with better light gathering and enhances contrast and colors for extremely lifelike images. There is also hydrophobic objective lens coating added, which is scratch-resistant since it repels moisture. When it comes to focusing, the Sapphire ED binoculars use grippy central focusing mechanism for quick adjustments and right-eye diopter to compensate for differences in the eyesight. Multi-positioned eyecups are also very convenient for quick and firm twist-up adjustments to make a proper eye-relief.

The Sapphire ED comes in high-quality leather case, impressively designed and well-padded to protect them. There is also neoprene neck strap added, objective lens covers and rainguards.
