Hawke Vantage Compact 12x25 Details

The very powerful 12x magnification will be of benefit to the long distance observer who also needs a small and thus easy to carry binocular. Ideal uses include hiking trips into the hills or mountains or long distance target spotting on the range.
Whilst the high power offers an increase in image detail at long range, keep in mind that it also makes it more difficult to keep the view still and shake free. It is for this reason, these are not recommended unless you have steady hands or for use on a moving platform like a boat.
The very small 2mm exit pupil generated by the 12x25 configuration means that this binocular will perform best under optimal lighting conditions and thus is not recommended for use at twilight or in thick forests for example.
The 8mm of eye relief is minimal, but should still be enough unless you wear glasses. In which case, a lower powered, larger instrument, like the 8x42 Hawke Vantage with its 18mm of eye-relief maybe a better choice.

About Hawke Vantage Compact Binoculars

Available in three magnifications (8x, 10x & 12x) and with either a green or gray rubber armour exterior, the 25mm Hawke Vantage is a budget-friendly series with the space saving double hingeroof prism design making them ideal for those looking for a good performance from a lightweight and compact, ideal for taking on just about any wildlife, holiday or travel adventure.
The Hawke Vantage is a budget-friendly series of compact binoculars that provides the user with a good level of performance but without the need to break the bank.

Important Features

As with many Hawke binoculars, you have a choice of either a green or grey finish to the rubber armour. Underneath is a lightweight, yet robust polycarbonate chassis that is fully sealed and then filled with Nitrogen gas making these binoculars both fog water and fog proof
The double-hinged design on these roof prism binoculars allows them to fold up into a very compact shape and thus they will fit in most jacket pockets when not in use.
Unlike many other similar priced compacts that use simple rubber folding eyecups, these have a twist-up mechanism with a number of click-stop positions that make fine adjustment to the eye-relief possible to helps ensure you are able to view the entire field of view without black rings forming on the edges.
The centrally located focus wheel has an easy action and is easy to reach, which along with their small body and wide Interpupillary range makes them a good choice for adults as well as most older children.

Optical Properties

These Hawke compact binoculars have a fully coated optics. This is certainly an improvement on many of those at this level that are only coated as it means all of the optical surfaces have been treated with a single layer of an anti-reflection material and not just some of them. However, it is also important to note that the full-sized Hawke Vantage binoculars are fully multi-coated meaning that all surfaces have multiple coatings added to them which further improves image brightness and quality.
Fashioned from BaK-4 optical glass, the roof prisms further enhance the compact body design and along with their reflective coatings ensure a bright and sharp image is maintained.
