Nightforce ATACR 5-25x56 F1 vs Kahles K624i 6-24x56
These two high-end tactical rifle scopes were made in Austria(Kahles K624i 6-24x56) and Japan(Nightforce ATACR 5-25x56 F1).
They are made to withstand even strong recoiling rifles and to deal with rough conditions.
What makes them an ideal tactical MIL/MIL rifle scopes is unique features like the parallax wheel which is located under the elevation turret on the Khales and the button style illumination with red and green illumination on the Nightforce. Not just that, the clicks on them are just 0.1 MIL.
We absolutely have to mention that these two scopes are in the premium league and both have some unique features. We can all admit that the price difference is very noticeable, but we compared these two scopes since they are both high-end models. Nightforce ATACR 5-25x56 F1 will cost you 4.099,00€, where on the other hand Kahles K624i 6-24x56 will cost you only 2.500,00€. That is a huge difference of 1.599€.
Nightforce is 15mm shorter and 116 grams heavier than Kahles but that does not matter that much since they are mounted on heavy rifles. They are both quite bulky and robust, but they have to be. What is especially good is the amount of light you are gathering with a 56mm objective lens. Since both are made in 34mm main tube the elevation range you get is pretty astonishing. The biggest difference between the scopes is the ocular. Because you have to turn the entire ocular around to change the magnification and this might be slightly annoying since the lens cover is also turning. Nightforce solved this with a rotatable lens cover from Tenebraex. Khales uses a European non-lockable diopter setting ring.
Both scopes are optically very good. But in our opinion, Nightforce might be just a bit better. The sharpness of the Nightforce scope is very good unbeatable, not saying that Khales is not good it is just not as good as the opponent. But eye-box is slightly better on Khales, best noticeable is it on the lowest magnification.
