The History of Henry

Henry Repeating Arms, an American firearms company, was founded in 1996 by Louis & Anthony Imperato. The company's name pays tribute to Benjamin Tyler Henry, the inventor of the first repeating lever-action rifle. Their initial product was the Henry model H001, a lever-action rifle chambered for a .22 rimfire cartridge which set the tone for Henry's focus on lever-action rifles, a tradition they would continue to build upon.

Over the years, Henry expanded its portfolio, selling more than 1 million of the H001 models and introducing a variety of other firearms. This includes the renowned Henry Golden Boy, the Big Boy and Long Ranger series for hunting and defense, the US Survival AR-7, Mini Bolt, tribute and Boy Scout editions, single-shot rifles, and shotguns in various calibers, as well as the Side-Gate lever-action rifle.

Today, in 2023, Henry Repeating Arms employs over 600 people and manufactures more than 300,000 rifles per year. With factories located in Bayonne, New Jersey, and Ladysmith, Wisconsin, the company continues to focus primarily on producing lever-action rifles in both centerfire and rimfire cartridges along with many additional firearm options. Anthony Imperato serves as the CEO and Founder, guiding the company from its headquarters in Rice Lake, Wisconsin.

Henry H015 Rifle Review

In addition to their lever action models, Henry also introduced a single-shot rifle marketed as the H015 model. Like some Henry lever actions, the H015 is also available in two configurations – either in a black steel frame with a matt finish or in a hardened and polished brass frame. The variants featuring steel frame can be chambered for 7 different calibers whereas the brass versions are only available in three.

The break action assembly is held in place by a single locking block when closed. There is a lever on the upper side of the action that opens the rifle when pulled to either of the sides as it is dual-directional. Contrary to most break-action rifles that can be spring cocked by opening the action, the hammer on the H015 must be manually cocked for the rifle to be able to fire.

The rifle is also equipped with iron sights – there is a flip-up sight on the rear which can be adjusted for elevation and windage and a bead front sight. On the top of the receiver, there are three holes drilled and tapped which can be used for optics mounting purposes. The single-stage trigger has a crisp pull that is factory pre-set between 2268g and 2722 g (5-6 lbs). In addition to the rifles, Henry also offers the single-shot shotguns in the H015 series.

Rifles That Have Two-Piece Scope Mounts Interchangeable With Henry H015

To meet interchangeability conditions, two-piece mounts must match in all dimensions except the B distance. B distance can vary because two-piece mounts can be installed and adjusted closer or further apart.
