The History of Schultz & Larsen

Schultz & Larsen is a Danish company that was founded in the mid-20th century by two brothers, Viggo, and Børge Schultz, and their friend, Jørgen Larsen. The company began as a small workshop producing hunting rifles and quickly gained a reputation for producing high-quality firearms. In the 1950s, Schultz & Larsen began to expand its product line to include target rifles and other competitive shooting firearms.

Throughout the following decades, Schultz & Larsen continued to innovate and improve its products, and by the 1970s, the company had become one of the leading manufacturers of competitive shooting rifles in Europe. The company's rifles were used by many Olympic and international-level shooters and several world records have been set with rifles from Schultz & Larsen.

In recent years, Schultz & Larsen has shifted its focus towards producing high-end hunting rifles, while still maintaining its reputation for quality and precision. The company continues to operate in Denmark, where all of its rifles are still handmade by skilled craftsmen.

Schultz & Larsen Ambassador Rifle Review

The Schultz & Larsen Ambassador bolt-action rifle is a perfect weapon for hunters and sport shooters who demand exceptional performance and versatility. The rifle features a switch barrel system that allows for the use of other calibers within the appropriate group, providing shooters with the flexibility to tailor their rifle to their specific hunting or shooting needs.

The Ambassador features a solid bolt handle with a sixty-degree opening angle, providing a smooth and reliable reloading. The bolt of the rifle is safely designed with three locking lugs, ensuring a secure and consistent lockup into the barrel during firing. The three-position safety of the Ambassador allows for safe operation of the rifle, with the center position allowing for easy unloading of the rifle with the safety on. The adjustable single-stage trigger of the rifle provides shooters with a customizable shooting experience, while an optional two-stage Match trigger is available for shooters who demand the ultimate accuracy. The unique mounting surface is designed for the Schultz & Larsen Slide & Lock scope mounts, but the possibility of mounting a Picatinny rail provide a variety of other options. Unlike on the other new Schultz & Larsen models, the mounting surface is not milled in, but comes in form of two separate bases. There are two holes in the front and the back of the receiver that are 101 mm apart. The distance between them measures 21.8 mm on both sides.

The rifle also comes with two pre-fitted sling swivel studs and weighs in at 3.4-3.7 kg (7.5-8.2 lbs). The barrel length varies depending on the caliber, ranging from 560 mm to 650 mm (22 inches to 25.6 inches), providing shooters with a range of options to suit their specific needs.
