I am interested in purchasing a nvg gen3 viewer, and I wanted to know if I can use the flashlights that I have for my digital viewer.
I currently use two flashlights. the first of 980nm of 4w and the second of 1050nm of 9w.
Even though some Gen III analog NV devices can detect wavelength up to 1000 nm, it has to be noted that the sensitivity of the image intensifier tube quickly decreases with increasing wavelength when it comes to analog NV. Gen II+/Gen III analog night vision devices work best when paired with illuminators that emit a light with a wavelength up to 940 nm, while Gen II works best around 850 nm.
