It is difficult to rate any product where the rating holds true for every user. For my intended use this is a fantastic scope. I wanted it for a 375 H&H to be used on medium to large game ranging in distance from very close out to a couple of hundred meters away. Shots could be taken from first light to the end of the day. I have used it now for a month or so and it functions perfectly with no indications of any weak points. It’s good points are excellent optics that stay distortion free through its power range. It has good eye relief for a heavy kicking rifle with no tunnel effect on lower power. The illuminated reticle has enough range that it can be used effectively in total darkness right through to bright sunlight. The non illuminated reticle is fine enough for very precise aiming, though in my 375 it is an unneeded refinement. An altogether excellent scope. Things I would prefer different are the appearance of the scope is a little odd and may look out of place on some rifles. This oddness is accentuated by the finish on the outside of the scope which looks the colour and texture of Steve pipe black. Don’t get me wrong it is very well executed and gives the scope a no nonsense military type finish but it is that aspect that might turn say a Weatherby fan off it as their first choice. I found the turret adjustments to be too soft to get a precise feel when calibrating. That said it is not a varmint scope where you will be constantly adjusting point of aim. The final thing that I would change is the tendency for the illumination to bleed out along the cross hairs when too much illumination was used for the light conditions prevailing at the time. Again this is easily overcome by backing off a click or two and really nitpicking on an overall great scope.
