Today, we\u2019ll be discussing another topic concerning <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.optics-trade.eu\/en\/manufacturer-holosun.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Holosun<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> products, namely the warranty. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There\u2019s a big problem in how the warranty is defined in the US and how it needs to be defined in the European Union. The <\/span><b>many differences in warranties<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from one <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.optics-trade.eu\/en\/manufacturer-holosun.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Holosun model series<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to another serve as an additional source of confusion among our customers. That\u2019s why we thought it would be best to explain it all here. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The fact is that in the majority of the US, the customers are used to the term <\/span><b>\u2018lifetime warranty\u2019<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. But this term is very flexible and <\/span><b>only vaguely defined<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Some manufacturers define lifetime warranty as the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">lifetime of the product itself<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and then go on to specify that detail in small print. Other brands employ the phrase \u2018lifetime warranty\u2019 to simply mean \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">as long as we are in business<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Due to the <\/span><b>EU legislation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the wording in warranties has to be <\/span><b>far more precise<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the European market than overseas. It has to be defined in <\/span><b>a time range<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, most commonly in actual years. This is something that confuses so many customers. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let\u2019s be honest here, we live in a globalised world and it\u2019s not just us at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.optics-trade.eu\/en\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Optics Trade<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> but also our customers who look up information everywhere and consider multiple sources. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Say, you\u2019re looking up an optical device like <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.optics-trade.eu\/en\/holosun-he515cm-elite.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Holosun HE515CM Elite<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for example. The very first search result lands you on an American page, the next one might bring you to an Australian domain, followed by a few websites that are located in Europe and so on. Each site makes a different warranty claim about the exact same product. It\u2019s confusing, really.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.optics-trade.eu\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">our company <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is located within the European Union, we will stick to warranty periods as defined by EU laws, that is, in exact years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The warranty on the majority of Holosun products is <\/span><b>3 years regarding electronics <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(so, the red dot) and <\/span><b>5 years on housing<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (if any element of housing should fail). Elite models have a longer warranty period of 10 years on both the electronics and the housing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, it is true that it\u2019s really rare that the housing would fail in any way as the neat Holosun\u2019s design makes it difficult for moisture to enter the device. In nearly all cases, the <\/span><b>source of red dot malfunction<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> comes from the electronics inside. Not just with Holosun but red dot sights on the whole.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Similar warranty conditions are in use with riflescope manufacturers. There\u2019s a separate warranty claim assigned to the illuminated reticle system and another, usually much longer warranty time period given to the rest of the optical device.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As far as <\/span><b>the housing <\/b>i<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">s concerned, the <\/span><b>seals have to remain intact<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and there is no moisture that could enter the device. The<\/span><b> nitrogen gas on the inside<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> ensures that there is no internal fogging.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s it.
