First, turn the diopter adjustment ring fully to the left (counter-clockwise) and then to the right until the reticle is in sharp focus. Once the reticle is sharply focused, the display will also be sharp<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.2 CHANGING THE MAGNIFICATION<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"144\" height=\"124\" src=\"https:\/\/www.optics-trade.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Swarowski-4-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5708466\" style=\"width:300px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Turn the magnification adjustment ring up to 180\u00b0 to obtain the required magnification. The adjustment is continuous. When the magnification is changed, the aiming point and windage marks position will adapt accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.3 OPERATING THE PARALLAX TURRET<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"151\" height=\"121\" src=\"https:\/\/www.optics-trade.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Swarowski-5-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5708467\" style=\"width:238px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Using the parallax turret, you can adjust the focus for every target distance and prevent aiming errors caused by parallax. The target distances from 50 m (50 yd) to \u221e are engraved on the parallax turret. Turn the parallax<br>turret until the distance you want is aligned with the index pin. The parallax turret also has a catch at 100 m (100 yd). This allows you to feel this setting, in particular at twilight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.4 OPERATING THE RETICLE ILLUMINATION<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Switching between measuring mode and red dot illumination<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"130\" height=\"119\" src=\"https:\/\/www.optics-trade.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Swarowski-6-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5708468\" style=\"width:215px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Press the plus and minus buttons simultaneously for half a second until the menu opens in the dS. Then select your required mode under \u201cDevice Mode\u201d and press the measurement button to confirm your choice. The SWAROLIGHT function on the rifle scope comes on automatically when the central aiming point is activated (red dot illumination). The rangefinder and all functions in the display are deactivated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Automatic shut-off function<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In red dot mode, if no adjustments are made to the brightness for a period of 0.5 hours, the reticle illumination automatically switches off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SWAROLIGHT function<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An intelligent tilt sensor detects whether the firearm is in a shooting position. The reticle illumination switches off automatically when the rifle is tilted up or down by 70\u00b0 or sideways by more than 30\u00b0. It automatically switches back on when the firearm is brought back into position.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"313\" height=\"168\" src=\"https:\/\/www.optics-trade.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Swarowski-7-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5708469\" style=\"width:399px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2 Brightness adjustment<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"132\" height=\"120\" src=\"https:\/\/www.optics-trade.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Swarowski-8-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5708470\" style=\"width:211px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can adjust the brightness of the display using the +\/\u2013 buttons and choose your preferred brightness level from 64 settings. Initial brightness adjustment To ensure the best possible visibility during use, the dS automatically selects one of three brightness levels based on the ambient brightness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3 Switching off the illumination<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To turn off the reticle illumination, press the plus\/ minus buttons simultaneously for a second.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.5 DISPLAY FEATURES WITH FUNCTIONS AND WARNINGS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SWAROVSKI OPTIK Hunting App gives you several options for configuring the dS according to your personal preferences:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Metric or imperial display<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select reticle type<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wind speed, bullet velocity, flight time, and knock-down power: Select the parameters (max. 3) you want to be displayed and define where they are shown on the display (see Point 12 \u201cCustomizable display fields\u201d)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Switch display elements on and off (windage marks, alignment indicator)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set specific values (wind speed, line width of windage marks, reticle width, display duration)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"335\" height=\"346\" src=\"https:\/\/www.optics-trade.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Swarowski-9-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5708472\" style=\"width:352px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1 <em>Illuminated reticle<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> <em>Aiming mark for the rangefinder<\/em>. An illuminated circle, the aiming mark for distance measurement, appears after you press the measurement button (see Point 2.6 \u201cMeasurement of distance and aiming point correction\u201d.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> <em>Distance<\/em>. The SWAROVSKI OPTIK Hunting App allows you to choose between different reticle types.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> Windage marksThe distances between the windage marks result from the range and the ballistics data on the firearm\/ammunitions combination that you have entered in the SWAROVSKI OPTIK Hunting App. The windage mark display is optional. It can be switched on and off in the SWAROVSKI OPTIK Hunting App. In the app, one of five different wind speeds can be selected.. Alternatively, you can  briefly press the + and \u2013 buttons simultaneously to open the menu in the dS and adjust the wind speed in the \u201cWind\u201d menu item. In the case of very high wind drift, the windage marks may be located outside the display. In this case, they are not shown. If the wind drift is very low and the windage marks are then too close together, they are also not shown. Values that are not shown are replaced by \u201c\u2013\u201d in the display.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alignment indicator The alignment indicator shows whether the firearm is perfectly horizontal. The ymbol disappears after one second. The alignment indicator display is optional. It can be switched on and off in the SWAROVSKI OPTIK Hunting App  Time-out warning An hourglass symbol appears 10 seconds beforethe display is deactivated (for setting information ee Point 2.9 \u201cAutomatic shut-off function\u201d).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> Battery warning The battery symbol tells you that you will need to replace the battery soon. You will still be able to take around 100 more measurements until then. You can check the battery status in the SWAROVSKI OPTIK Hunting App when you are connected to the rifle scope.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> Arrow up\/down The aiming point is located above\/below the display. If you reduce magnification, the aiming point will become visible again.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Arrow up\/down. The aiming point is located above\/below the display. If you reduce magnification, the aiming point will become visible again.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Display brightness indicator When you adjust the brightness of the display, this symbol shows you the current brightness level.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Customizable display fields Three customizable fields (display position 1-3) are available in the display. In the SWAROVSKI OPTIK Hunting App, you can select the parameters you would like to be shown. The bullet velocity, flight time, and knock-down power parameters are automatically adjusted to the range measured in line with your ballistics data.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.6 MEASUREMENT OF DISTANCE AND AIMING POINT CORRECTION<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"127\" height=\"119\" src=\"https:\/\/www.optics-trade.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Swarowski-10-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5708473\" style=\"width:238px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An illuminated circle, the aiming mark, appears after you press the measurement button and the measuring function is activated. If you release the measurement button, the measurement is triggered and the aiming point calculated from your entered data will appear. The easuring mark is the central target mark of the physical reticle. SWAROVSKI OPTIK accepts no liability if the laser in the dS adversely affects or damages other devices (e.g. night vision thermal imaging clip-on devices).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.9 AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF FUNCTION<\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"312\" height=\"160\" src=\"https:\/\/www.optics-trade.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Swarowski-11-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5708477\" style=\"width:402px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can set the duration after which the display will be turned off automatically in the SWAROVSKI OPTIK Hunting App. As a warning, an hourglass symbol appears on the display 10 seconds before it utomatically switches off. To extend the display time, press any button on the dS or angle the dS by at least 20\u00b0 to the right or left. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.10 CHANGING THE BATTERY<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"141\" height=\"139\" src=\"https:\/\/www.optics-trade.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Swarowski-12-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5708481\" style=\"width:279px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Switch off the reticle illumination.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unscrew the battery cover by turning it counter-clockwise.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remove the old battery.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When inserting the new battery (type CR123A), make sure the side marked \u201c+\u201d is in the correct position (see the marking on the device). Warning: Do not use rechargeable batteries!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Screw the battery cover back on<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.11 SWAROVSKI OPTIK RAIL COVER (SR VERSION ONLY)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"145\" height=\"130\" src=\"https:\/\/www.optics-trade.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Swarowski-13-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5708482\" style=\"width:248px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cover provided can be used to protect the exposed areas of the rail. You can cut it to the required size and press it into the rail using your fingers <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SIGHTING IN THE SCOPE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3.1 ADJUSTING THE SCOPE ON THE RIFLE<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the point of impact of the bullet deviates from the aiming point, you can correct this easily and accurately by adjusting the elevation and windage turrets. The middle point of the reticle will always stay in the center of the field of view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3.2 ELEVATION AND WINDAGE ADJUSTMENT<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"134\" height=\"117\" src=\"https:\/\/www.optics-trade.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Swarowski-24.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5708485\" style=\"width:221px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the battery cover and remove the Torx wrench and adjusting<br>tool.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"162\" height=\"231\" src=\"https:\/\/www.optics-trade.eu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Swarowski-15-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5708486\" style=\"width:197px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The covers of the elevation and windage adjustment can be opened using the Torx wrench (TX 6) provided.
