This time, we’ll be comparing and discussing the differences between two very similar devices:

the second generation of Pulsar Axion 2 XG35 and

the second generation of Pulsar Axion 2 XG35 with a laser rangefinder.

What are the main differences between Axion 2 XG35 and Axion 2 XG35 LRF?

The main difference is that the Axion 2 XG35 LRF model has a laser rangefinding compartment. The compartment is located on the left side of the device, with a button on it.

Pulsar Axion 2 XG35 VS Pulsar Axion 2 XG35 LRF

Difference in size

Axion 2 XG35 LRF is a bit bigger than the standard model. The device’s laser rangefinding compartment makes it difficult to use if you’re left-handed. For the standard Axion 2 XG35 model, it doesn’t matter whether you are using the device with your left or right hand.

It is worth noting that the strap is only on the right side of the device. Even so, you can still use it quite easily with your left hand. You can hold it normally with your left hand, but it is a bit more difficult than if the straps were placed on both sides.

Watch Pulsar Axion 2 XG35 vs XG35 LRF video below

Difference in weight

Then there’s the weight difference. Because of the laser rangefinding compartment, the Axion 2 XG35 LRF model weighs 80 grams more than the standard model. The difference is not that significant.

Pulsar Axion 2 XG35

Need more information about Axion 2 XG35 and XG35 LRF? The standard Axion 2 XG35 costs 2.490 euros, whereas the Axion 2 XG35 LRF model costs 2.790 euros. This is significantly lower than we anticipated.

We saw these devices at IWA 2022 and assumed they would be priced at 3000 euros or above; a price of 3.500 euros also seemed likely.

We expected a higher price because Axion 2 XG35 thermal monoculars have a completely new French-made sensor with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels that features a 12-micron pixel pitch.

Where are Pulsar Axion 2 XG35 made?

Axion 2 XG35 devices are entirely made in Europe, in Lithuania.
