In each episode, we talk about a different topic and try to answer the most common questions we receive about it. Today, we are going to talk about the locking feature on turrets.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">Both elevation and windage can be locked on turrets that have a locking feature. The locking feature prevents accidental movements of the turrets.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">Some turrets have a locking function only on zero, but the majority can be locked on any setting.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">It is used in tactical situations where there are a lot of opportunities for the turret to turn. Turrets with a locking function are used by the military, the police, sports shooters&#8230;<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">Locking turrets are also used by hunters. They need it when they&#8217;re stalking, hunting in the mountains&#8230; in regards to hunting, it is mostly used on modern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.optics-trade.eu\/en\/riflescopes\/shopby\/turret_type-bdc_lockable.html\">BDC hunting turrets<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"LEFT\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.optics-trade.eu\/en\/riflescopes\/shopby\/turret_type-bdc_lockable.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><button class=\"button1\">Check out BDC lockable turrets here<\/button><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">Locking turrets are found on premium, high-quality tactical scopes with exposed turrets and on premium high-quality hunting scopes with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.optics-trade.eu\/en\/riflescopes\/shopby\/turret_type-bdc_lockable.html\">BDC turrets<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">The majority of target scopes don&#8217;t have a locking function.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">There are some \u201ehybrids\u201c like some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.optics-trade.eu\/en\/riflescopes\/shopby\/manufacturer-kahles.html\">Kahles scopes<\/a> that have a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.optics-trade.eu\/blog\/kahles-twist-guard-locking-function\/\">twist guard<\/a>. Conventional locking turrets can be accidentally broken in hectic situations if the user overforces them. That is not possible with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.optics-trade.eu\/blog\/kahles-twist-guard-locking-function\/\">twist guards<\/a>, because they are always able to move.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">The locking function is usually enabled when a turret is pulled out or pushed down.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">We would like to thank you for your time.
